The class passed by surprisingly fast. But that didn't help shake the feeling that this new kid was watching my every move. Once the bell rang to leave class I gathered my things, flinging the old worn down blue vans backpack over my shoulder I start to stand up and leave when I felt someone take hold of my bag.
Turning around I meet a makeup caked face belonging to Taylor. Smiling her pearly whites at me she cocks her head to the left. "I saw you eyeing the new kid." She says a little too loud. "It really wasn't that hard to miss." Giving a small chuckle Taylor looks over her shoulder to Jesper who ignored her words. Taking his textbook and bag Jesper flips his black hair to the right side of his face before exiting the class. He didn't say a word. Once Jesper was gone Taylor gripped my arm so tight that I winced from the sting. "Okay I get it." She huffs. "He's cute and all but, pah-lease! As if a girl like you can get a guy like him." Letting go of my forearm I fight back some tears. Pain from her words and the pain from her grasp makes me want to just hide under a rock and cry until I can no longer cry anymore.
"If anyone can go for Jesper it would be me or Jessica. Or even Samantha in that matter. But not you, so keep those googly eyes to yourself." Taylor says as she gives me a shove. The shove was hard enough to knock my backpack down my arm, with the weight of the bag I lost my balance and fall to the ground.
Now standing over me Taylor smiles, a not so friendly one at that. "Have a nice day." Turning her attention to our teacher who walked back into the room Taylor smiles at her. Mrs. Johnson had left to use the restroom. Giving Taylor the perfect amount of time to bully me. Taking her chevron print backpack and putting it over both shoulders Taylor straightens out her shirt and smiled to Mrs. Johnson. "Have a great rest of your day Mrs. Johnson. Oh! And I love your new glasses, they really bring out your milk brown eyes." Taylor said as she went on to butter up the teacher.
Taking in the shame that came with me being me I started to stand. Using the desk to pick myself up it slides across the ground making that nails on the chalkboard type of sound. Attracting Mrs. Johnson's attention I scrunching my nose tight and closing my eyes. Please don't notice me, please don't notice me! Hearing Mrs. Johnson's sweet voice the older looking teacher looked at me with concern. "Iverly dear, how'd you end up on the ground?"
Opening my eyes and smiling the best I could manage as I look over to Taylor, who is standing in the door way with a threatening look that says 'If you say anything I'll kill you' look. Returning my gaze to Mrs. Johnson I grin even a larger fake smile. "Oh nothing." I lied rubbing at the back of my neck. "I just... tripped." looking down at the ground I spot the leg of the desk I used to help myself up. "Uh.. over the leg of this desk as I started to leave." Giving a nervous laugh I make my way towards the door. Giving Mrs. Johnson a small wave to say goodbye I make my leave.I'm so going to get an ass whooping for having Mrs. Johnson notice me. Closing the classroom door behind me I look down at my arm. Lifting up the sleeve of my sweater I cringe as small little red marks started to form where Taylor held my arm. Covering my arm back up I look around to see if anyone noticed my arm; as I looked around I met those blue eyes again.
Leaning against the window seal across the hallway from the classroom stood Jepser. His eyes clinging to my own. Quickly averting my eyes to the left I begin to walk the opposite way from Jesper to my next class."You should really tell the truth." Someone whispers in my ear in a deep husky voice. The tone sweet, but honest. Catching my breath at the words I stop walking. Turning around to confront who ever whispered in my ear I nearly fall into Jessica. Shoving me back Jessica huffs "Watch where you are going dork." Shoving her way past me into our next class I look around to see if the one who whispered to me was anywhere near. But I only see a large crowd of nobodies.
Turning back to head into class I see Samantha walking my way. Giving me a sneaky grin she pauses for a moment at my side. "Don't forget we have a lunch date. Zupas. I'll text you the order list. Oh, and Mitchel told me that you got the order wrong earlier today. If I were you, I would get it right this time sweets." Samantha is from New Jersey so she has a accent that is hard to forget. She even plays the part well, long bouncy brown locks and she even has a perfect tan. Giving me a slight pack on the back Samantha bounces away with her jingly braceletsbalong side her.
