Does anyone have a wand handy? I wanna make an unbreakable vow.

Person: *Pulls out wand* Do you swear that you will finish this story?

Me: I do.

Person: Will you write the next book?

Me: I will.

Person: And if you can't, will let someone you trust finish for you?

Me: I will.

*Bands dissolve*

YAY! I SHALL FINISH THEE STORY!

I sat in a compartment on the Hogwarts train with Hermione. I was nervous.

"Chill, Jinx. The train's not gonna crash." She joked.

"I know, it's not that." I said. "My parents don't know I'm in Gryffindor. They think I'm in Slytherin."

Hermione's eyes widened. "Why haven't you told them?"

"I'm scared." I whispered. "They might... disown me or.... kill me."

"I doubt that." Hermione said.

"You don't know them like I do, Hermione!" I said. I lowered my voice. "They used to be supporters of You-Know-Who."

Hermione looked more shocked than she did when she found out Snape found a grammer error in her essay.

"Now you see why I'm going home." I said. "They'll find out sometime."

Hermione was speechless.

When the train got to King's Cross, I told Hermione that if I show up at her house, she should assume I've been disowned, and went to find Draco.

He was already with my parents.

"Where have you been?" My mom asked, me, giving me a hug.

"Saying goodbye to a friend." I said casuallly.

"And who might that be?" Father asked.

"Hermione Granger." I said. No sense waiting. I could get right on a train and be out of their lives. Or catch up with Hermione's family.

"I've never heard of the Grangers." Father said.

"Because they're muggles." I said. I pulled my robes out of my trunk. "I was sorted into Gryffindor. I didn't know how to tell you guys."

My parents were shocked.

"You're hanging out with mudbloods?!?" My mother screeched.

"Yeah. I am." I said.

Whatever happens, happens. I thought.

"Jessica.... We are very disappointed in you." Father said.

"Don't call her Jessica, father." Draco called. "Everyone calls her Jinx nowadays."

"Jinx?"

"Hey, I've been trying to get you to call me that for years now." I said, holding up my hands.

"So... what are we going to do with her?" Mother asked.

"Well, we can't have a blood-traitor in the family. It would give us a bad name." Father mused.

"What if we just hide her away? Lock her in her room." Mother said.

"That will do for now...."

"People will notice her absence." Draco noted.
