I can't believe my Uncle Josh was respond for Maya's mom's death. Of all people I never thought my Uncle Josh would kill someone let alone my best friend's mother. I'm pulled out of my thoughts by my phone ringing. "Hello?" "Riley Lt. Benson just told me that Josh was drunk when he hit us." " What?" I responded. I can't believe what I'm hearing. Because my uncle decided to get drunk I almost lost my best friend and she lost her mom! He is so selfish.
Maya's POV
I get to my new home, and Lt. Benson tells me that the guy I've been in love with since I laid eyes on him was drinking and driving, and that's why I no longer have my mom. He's the reason I could have lost not just my life, but my daughter's as well! How could he be so selfish? She also told me that I have to testify at my rapist's trial tomorrow. Can this day get any worse?
