I sighed. This was the last house of the day, thankfully.

I purposely chose the duchess' house so I could relax for a while there without being judged. They were the closest thing to royalty after us, so naturally we were very close. I heard faint chattering between the ladies and couldn't wait to get in and put my feet up.

I stood patiently behind the guards as they knocked on the oak door. The house was quite substantial- after all they were very rich. But they were nice people which was a comfort. I couldn't remember their names though.

Is it Trisha? Tess? Tessy? Te-

My thoughts were cut off as the door opened and the young lady caught my eye. She smiled and curtsied. The guards walked in and I followed, my eyes immediately scanning for somewhere to sit. I was drawn to my usual seat here, by the fire. It's a lovely soft armchair, always warm.

But it was taken.

My breath caught in my throat. Who was this girl?

She was wearing a beautiful white dress, and her bodice hugged her incredible figure perfectly. Her raven hair curled effortlessly around her shoulders, and her face was beautiful. Her eyes-
