Chapter 5

A week had passed since my house flooded and I started staying at nialls. Time flies when your having fun. Thing is I wasn't having fun. Maura and bobby was still acting strange. It was like they were trying to be nice. Niall just wasn't the same boy I knew all those years ago. He still looked the same. He still talked the same. Still thought the same. But he just didn't treat me the same. Don't get me wrong, he still treated me well but it was just different. "Why don't we do something today?" Niall asked me. "Sure, I'd love that!" I replied sounding rather happy. "Okay, be ready at two and we will go to macdonalds!" When we were younger we used to steal penny's from our mothers purses and run off to macdonalds, if we were lucky we would get to share a cheeseburger from the euro saver menu.

I went upstairs and got ready. I wore light blue jeans, a black crop top with a floral design, a cardigan and blue vans. I applied light makeup and tied my hair in a bun.

Niall and I left for macdonalds at two o' clock. You would think Niall would have to disguise himself in a batman suit or something but he didn't actually. The small village in mullingar, where we were from, everyone knew each other and didn't make any fuss if they say Niall horan or Niall Breslin walk past. They just waved and asked how life was going.

*for those who don't know who Niall Breslin is, he is better known as bressie, he is a friend of nialls, also from mullingar, a singer and a judge on the voice of Ireland*

When we reached macdonalds we took a seat by the back window.
"So what would you like Ms. Carley?" "I would like curly fries with a chilli chicken burger and a large diet coke please" I replied in a very safisticated posh voice. "No problem madam, I shall be back". Niall left to get our food. I looked out the window thinking of all the times me and Niall shared as kids. That's when I spotted a very familiar face. I couldn't quite tell who it was at first but it didn't take me long to realise. Anthony. Anthony Kelpin. He was my ex boyfriend. We dated for about a year and a half. Things fell apart when he accused me of cheating with his best friend when it was actually him cheating on me with my best friend. He abused me as well. No one knew about that. I always tried to tell my friend, Tiana, but I never could. I also tried to stop Anthony as well. It wasn't just physical abuse but he was always yelling at me for not being the perfect girlfriend he wanted.

Anyway back to the point. It looked like he was heading back towards his house. My eyes followed him as he walked up the path. That's when he saw me. I think it took him a while for his eyes to adjust to make out who I was. I stopped and started at me for a minute. I looked to see if Niall was nearly finished getting our food. Thank god he was. He was walking to our table with a tray full of food. I slightly glanced back out the window. Anthony was gone. I panicked when I saw him walking through the entrance if macdonalds. I really just wanted to cling onto Niall and never let go. Unfortunately I couldn't do that. "Is everything okay?" Niall asked worryingly. "Ye-a-h" I stumbled. Nialls eyes were still worried and it wasn't hard to see that. He placed the trays on the table. Anthony was walking towards our table. He was two footsteps away from us.

"Long time no see, Zoe Carley" Anthony said.
