Lea: "she's going to be fine," Dani said coming up behind me. I was in Eden's room looking out the window. From here I could see the front of the house where Eden was with her brother. I noticed from up here that they had the same shade of dirty blonde hair. I wondered if they got it from their father. Their mother's was black.

"I hope your right," I told him, turning away from the window, "shouldn't you be in your wolfy form?"
"Yeah," he said looking down, "I just wanted to talk."
"What about?"
"She really loves you."
"And I really love her."
Dani wasn't meeting my eyes so I had no idea where this conversation was going.

"I grew up with Eden," he began. "I've seen her at her strongest and at her weakest. When Juliet left she was destroyed. I can't see her go through that again. I love her."
There it was. Dani loved my girlfriend. And more than just a friend way. I didn't say anything. I just kept quiet because I was a bit jealous and didn't exactly like where all this had headed. This was her best friend who was always by her side. I knew she didn't like him back that way but it still didn't change how I felt.

"She doesn't and never will know how I feel," Dani continued, running his fingers through his moppy black hair. "I just wanted to tell you and be honest. And I hope you stay with her. You make her very happy."
"I'm not going anywhere," I told him.

Turning around, I heard a commotion from outside. Looking out the window I saw where it was coming from. Wolves on the other side of the fence were working their way in. Some tried pushing their way through the bars of the fancy iron workings while others attempted to climb their way over the top.

Eden and Ryan had quickly turned into their wolf forms before my eyes and began to attack the others that made it through. The siblings were noticeably bigger but more and more wolves were making their way through. Soon they would be outnumbered. Reinforcements though sprang into action from the house. I let out a long sigh of relief but it was short lived.

Somehow the gate had been opened by the enemy. Dozens of wolves had sprang from the woods and filed the I way in. We were very outnumbered now, even with the help from our pack.

"Shit," Dani swore, "those bastards might actually make it into the house."
He quickly sprang out of the room and changed easily as he went. By the time he exited the room, he was just a mass of black fur.

I turned back to the window after he left. I didn't want to see what was happening but I also didn't want to look away. I needed to make sure Eden was okay. She wasn't. Before my eyes, I saw her get swallowed by the other pack. About ten of them had teamed up against her and she was no match. Moments later, gunshots rang out.
------
Eden: they had me surrounded. There was no way out of this one. Even my brother was struggling to hold his own with the help of our pack. I was fighting my way to the top of the pile when I heard it. Gunshots, only three at first, but then there was more. One by one, shots rang out. Some of my wolves were falling to the ground, blood pooling around their lifeless bodies. Someone had brought a gun to a knife fight.

In this form and in human, we could withstand a few hits from a regular pistol. But this was no pistol and no regular bullets. From the way my pack members whined in pain, I knew they were silver bullets and judging from the force it was a sniper rifle. We were no match.

I could feel the panic from my subordinates. I tried to stay calm for them but my mind was reeling. I knew they could feel my fear just as much as I could theirs.
-------
Lea: "they're getting shot at!" I screamed. I began to run down the halls in panic. Marina tried to stop me before I ran down the stairs but I was going to fast and not about to be stopped.
"You have to stay up here!" She called after me. She wasn't following though which I was thankful for.

I was almost to the first floor when I was stopped in my tracks. Dani was in front of me growling. He was not about to let me pass.
"Dani, please." I begged, "they're being shot at."
For his answer he took a step towards me growling louder. Nothing I could say would convince him.

"I'm sorry," I said before doing something I'd regret later. I kicked him hard in the face and then once in the ribs. He yelped and sprang back. I knew it wouldn't hold him for long but it was enough to put him off. I ran by him as fast as I could. How was he going to stop me anyway? He wouldn't do anything that could potentially hurt me for the fear of Eden's wrath.

I made it down the stairs when I saw Gregory. His eyes were filled with fear and his grey hair was no longer neatly placed. His buttoned shirt was untucked and ruffled.
"You can't go out there, Child." He said in a thick British accent. He was not German like the majority of the pack.
"They're being shot at. Everyone is in their wolf form!" I exclaimed.
"You'll be shot at too. Eden would never forgive us if something happened to you."
"Eden is in danger," I told him. My eyes serious.

He was quiet for a minute with his eyes closed.
"Okay," Gregory said finally. He then reached behind him and pulled out a handgun from the waistband of his pants. "It has silver bullets. Find the shooter and kill them. Get as close as you can. Someone in the pack will spot you. They know how much you mean to Master."
"Thank you!" I shouted, jumping up and wrapping my arms around him in a hug.
I quickly took the gun from him before running out. I really hoped I could figure out how to work it.
