Day 11: Lessons

Anime/Manga : Tokyo Ghoul                                                                                                                                                       Touka's PoV                                                                                                                                                                                          It was a gloomy sort of day, in all honesty, I didn't care much. Its been a little over a month since Bakaneki left. I'm an idiot for caring about that idiot. I should've expected it really, after all,my life isn't exactly roses and sunshine.Everyone I care about eventually leaves me. Ugh! Why am I getting depressed over him?This sucks. "Touka?" I heard Hinami say. "Hinami?"I replied.She sat next to me with a wry smile. "Are you thinking about him again?" she asked resting her chin on her hand. "I guess," I said looking out the window. "Y'know if you want to see him, why don't you look for him?" she asked. "What would I do then?For all,I know he'd probably walk away and ignore me. There's nothing good about the situation," I replied. "Well,you won't know if you don't try Touka. Anyways, want to go to the bookstore?It'll help take your mind off things," she said with puppy dog eyes. "Fine.Bakaneki sure influenced you when it comes to reading huh?" I said with a small smile. "Yep!Now let's go," she said grabbing my hand. I laughed a bit but, I followed her. We spent a couple hours there. In all honesty,it was pretty hard,but I had to learn my lesson soon enough. Even though he seemed like a pushover,in the end,it wasn't like he was going to stay forever. While I read the books with Hinami, I kept coming across love stories with the couple splitting then coming back, but the difference was that they cherished each other sooner than we do in real life. That's what lets them come together before it's too late and even when it's tragic they still have sweet memories. Is that the same with me? I don't know in all honesty, but at least I can look back and see the Kaneki I cherish. I can admit to myself only, though. That Bakaneki making me learn things even when he wasn't there. Damn you. I guess even if I don't ever see him again, I can thank him in my head for teaching me  this at least. Even when someone's not there it doesn't mean that they won't be there to help you grow or that your feelings disappear when they're gone or that no matter what they do you still remember.

Kaneki's PoV                                                                                                                                                                                       I saw Touka and Hinami in my favorite bookstore. Touka was smiling while she and Hinami were reading a book titled "Crimson Dusk". She looked out the window like she usually does and stared out the snow. I cracked a small smile. She never did truly change. Scary one minute and gentle the next. I guess at least she taught me something about ghouls before I joined Aogiri Tree.
