Shadow's point of view

We followed the trail to a base where we assumed they had Tori. Blood was splattered all over the ground and piled off to the side were two guards, both still alive but unconscious. A certain spot of blood caught my eye. It was much more metallic looking. We followed the unusually crimson looking blood into the base.

Maka took the lead as we weaved through the complex building, avoiding anyone who came our way. The shiny red liquid spotted the already dirtied flooring, and lead onward. As we searched further into the base, I felt more nervous than anything. Maka had Soul ,who remained a weapon for the time, and I had nothing. I was afraid that if we didn't get to Tori soon, I would have nothing for a very long time.

“Mmmmm.” Maka bent over a placed her hand on the ground., “The blood stains are constant here...like someone being dragged.”

It was Tori's blood all right. Who else would have been dragged down a hallway?

“We must be getting close...” I looked down the long stretch of tile. Keeping quiet, we made it to what seemed like the last, and most important, hallway. Not even a corner away was a heavily guarded door. I felt as if all the guards that seemed to be missing along the way were stationed here. There was about ten, but it was hard to tell from our position. Our only option was to go in.

Maka looked worried, this would be too much for her to handle by herself. All of them had guns, and all we had was Maka and Soul. She looked at me with worried eyes, wanting to hear any suggestions I had. Time was running out and we were under immense pressure. I looked at our surroundings. Just a stone wall, tile floors, and...what was this? Upon further realization, it was a heating system, two of them.

I pointed them out to Maka, “We can create an explosion if we hit those with a powerful and electrical force.” I whispered to her.

She put her hands on her hips and looked around, her eyes lit up.

“Your hoverboard!” she whisper excitedly. I had forgotten that I found my board earlier, outside of the abandoned building.

“But it won't pierce the metal of the heating unit.”

We went back into thought. We didn't have anything sharp or pointed....

“What about me?'” Soul suggested.

“Don't be ridiculous, that explosion will kill you.” Maka called him an idiot and then the bickering started.

“Wait, no that might work.” A plan came to me.

“This isn't a suicide mission! We aren’t taping Soul to your dumb hoverboard!” Maka nagged again.

“No... not that...” I pulled my board from my back. Using my bare hands and my pocket knife, pried the backing off the casing and tampered with the controls, setting the speed to beyond ride-able. “If you can pierce the unit before hand, I can send the hoverboard in after you.”

“But won't we still get caught in the explosion?” Maka questioned my plan.

“Not if this works the way I want it to.” I grinned at the ingenuity I was about to let them in on.

Tori's point of view

I was hanging by my wrists. The chain that attached to the high ceiling clacked as I repositioned my hands. I had tried numerous times to break the lock with my strength, but my power had all been drained and I couldn't transform. That devious bandit was settling a soul deal right in front of my eyes and I couldn't do or say anything. Our lanky target was sitting at a table with a well know villain, El Capone. Capone's men and the soul thieves men were scattered throughout the room. El Capone puffed his cigar.
