Connection

Shadow's point of view

 

I was shaking so madly that I was afraid I would collapse again.  It took everything I had to stand, and look her directly in the eye.  I don't know why I was so scared, maybe she had the ability to induce fear into others, maybe I was in shock from what I had seen.  Her cold eyes bore through me like steel, I dragged a foot forward.  Tori didn't move, she continued to look at me, clenching and releasing her fists.  More scales appeared on her skin as I stepped forward again.

The closer I got to her, the more menacing she seemed.  The closer I got the more she lost herself, I was so close I could feel her tension.  

"Won't you get away from me!" she yelled at me in frustration, I could hear a beastly growl in her voice.  I didn't say anything, just proceeded to get closer.  Frustration and confusion welled up in her eyes and she lashed out, clawing me across the middle, knocking me to the ground.

"I said stay away!  I don't want to hurt you!"  a tail whipped from her back, and her teeth began to lengthen.

"No," I said determined, I clutched me badly wounded chest and slowly got up.  She looked scared now, I'm not sure of what, maybe of me, or maybe the chances of hurting me. 

Tears started to trickle down her face.  I managed to get another step closer before she attacked me again.

"All the others listened, why won't you?!" she opened her mouth wide and screamed towards me, fire erupted from her throat and burned me skin, luckily it wasn't hot enough to kill me. 

I coughed and wiped ash from my face, "Because," my voice was raspy and it hurt to talk, "I know you won't kill me."

Tori's point of view

Fire, fire, kill, claw, death, kill, wings, fire, kill.  My willpower wasn't enough to get rid of these thought and I kept hurting Shadow.  My body wasn't in my control anymore.

Why not kill this pathetic human...he is worth nothing! 

Shadow was getting closer to me.  I'm trying to tell him to stop, that I couldn't keep from killing him accidentally.

Kill him!  He will satisfy your blood lust! Kill him! KILL HIM!

I could feel horns grow from the side of my head as the dragon took over.  I put my hands around my head and screamed.  This other side would kill me if I didn't do something fast. 

I looked frantically at Shadow.  He looked back at me sadly, then slowly collapsed on my shoulder.  I froze, my dragon counterpart had no idea of what to do, it was just as surprised as I was.  He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me close to him.

"I won't let you hurt anyone else." he said softly.   My head became fuzzy and I let out a roar of pain as my tail, horns, scales and wings retreaded back to my body.  I was crying madly now and I wrapped my hands around his neck before completely blacking out.

Kid's point of view

 

"Tori! Shadow!" yelled Patty as we looked for them.  The dance was nearly over and both of them had disappeared. 

"Oh my god! Kid, come here!"  Liz called me over.  Both Tori and Shadow where collapsed on the ground, a pool of blood surrounding them. 

"I'll go get nurse Medusa!" Liz rushed away to find help.  Tori seemed to have just passed out, but Shadow had a large wound and his skin was charred.
