Christine POV
I couldn't take it. What that woman was saying to me. The Lady of the Opera?! For heaven's sake, I was the only one that would ever have that title. I scoff as I marched down the lair. But I stop for a second. I was being selfish. After all the pain I caused my angel, he didn't deserve me. He didn't deserve all the suffering that I caused him. But then, for the past five years, he has deceived me into thinking with the rest of the world that he was gone.
"Christine! Slow down!" Jack yells from behind with Raoul marching beside him.
"You can't go off like that Christine," Raoul said as he reached my side.
"Who is she?" I snap at Raoul.
"How could I know? I never heard her voice she could simply be a ballerina messing with us Christine," Raoul said. I decide to change the subject and move onto a different subject.
"Stay behind me then. I will stop you if I see him because if he sees you, especially you Raoul, he will kill you," I say as I turn on my heels and slowly walk out into to the boat.
"Lemme help you on," Jack says quietly as he took my hand. I sat down at the edge of the boat as both Jack and Raoul stepped on. Jack sat down beside me, taking my hand in his. His hand felt clampy and cold. I look up when Raoul didn't begin moving the boat. He was staring at Jack and my hands entwined. Uncomfortable in this situation, I slipped my hands away from him and folded them onto my lap, ignoring both men and looking ahead.
We ventured through the labyrinth of his underground lair. When I finally saw candles I began to stand up, only to nearly fall. Raoul grabbed my waist from behind balancing me. I step out of his grasp and turn to him.
"Thank you," He nods his head, "stop Raoul. Stop the boat."
Raoul gives me a questioning look as I take off my cloak and gently lay it on the boat.
"Stay here. I'm going to walk from here and see if he's there," I whisper as move to the edge of the boat.
Jack takes my hand and stops me so I turn, "Are you sure this is safe Chris?" He gives me a worried look.
I smile and take his hand, "Trust me, it's safer than you think for me Jack. Help me out please," He holds me by the waist and lifts me off the boat gently placing me into the water. The water touches my legs and I let out a quick gasp at the coldness of it. Thinking I'm hurt, Jack doesn't let me go.
"I'm fine, it's just cold," Jack lets me go and I take a step towards the lair.
"I will make a signal to come but until then, move the boat out of site and stay in the shadows where he can't find you."
"Lotte," I look at Raoul as he called my nickname.
"Please, be careful."
"Please Chris," Jack says along.
"I will be don't worry," I let go of the boat and start to make my way towards my angel's lair.
As I get there I gently whisper, "Erik?"
I come closer and pass the gate holding from above.
I hear from behind me, "CHRISTINE! WATCH OUT!" Jack yells as the gate slams from behind me.
I turn my head and no one is there but then someone violently grabs my neck with a firm piece of rope. They push me against the cold metal gate and I choke on my air. I look up to find a woman with murderous eyes look at me.
"So you're the Christine Daae he hates."
"Who are you?!" I choke as the rope tightens around my neck. Curls fell on my face as I struggled to breath.
