Chapter 3
(Monochrome party)
Since its classy dining for tonight, I tried to look proper and ladylike.
I brushed my long wavy brown hair, wore a black tube dress, gray pumps and applied light make up. I lastly applied my favorite lip gloss which made my lips pout slightly.
I examined myself at the mirror. I rate myself at “OK” level. That means, I don’t look drop dead gorgeous or looks like a poor filthy thing. Just average.
“Darcy, your boyfriend is waiting downstairs.”
Kaitlin, my five year old sister entered my room and she’s already in her pajamas.
“He’s not my boyfriend; he’s my best friend okay?”
I took her hand and we both head downstairs.
“But he was your boyfriend, I saw him last night too.”
“I told you he’s not. If I had one, I’ll tell you immediately.”
“He’s nice and he’s okay for me”
I chuckled.
“Tyler is my best friend, you knew it all along.”
I opened the door and saw him standing. Were like an inch closer right now.
“But he’s not Tyler; he said his name was Red.”
“Hard to tell which one is Kaitlin and Darcy?”
Kaitlin was beaming and she was hiding at my back.
“She really likes you.”
“I like her too.” While he was staring at my eyes.
“So, what made you drop by?”
I smiled and Kaitlin was running to the kitchen.
“I think this was yours and actually found it on my car.
He was referring to my small memo notebook where I put secrets and random ideas when I feel bored or anything. I panicked and took it from his hand.
“Don’t worry, never had a chance to read it.”
He smiled and his eyes crinkled.Kaitlin appeared suddenly and offered homemade cookies that were already placed in a mini basket. Red bent down to take it.
“You made these?”
“No, I only helped but it was tasty.”
“I’m sure it is.”
Kaitlin chuckled again.
“When you drop by again, I’ll give you more and I’ll help more too.”
“When I drop by again, I should give you something too. What would you like?”
“I don’t know but I love sweets.”
“That’s great; I’ll bring you lots of chocolates only if I’m allowed to drop by again.”
He was standing now and staring at me.
“Yeah sure, whatever. You can.”
I smiled at him and Kaitlin was telling me that she’s sleepy.
“Goodnight Darcy, goodnight Red.”
She made her way upstairs and I can feel my heartbeat racing now it was only the two of us.
He rested his left hand on my shoulders.
“Hey, I think I’ll be going too.”
“I think you should, Red.” As I eyed on my shoulders where he laid his hand.
