Ryan looked out at the kids playing volleyball, wondering how to introduce himself.
"Just go up to them and say hi, they'll do the rest." Evan had silently walked behind him, scaring the heck out of the boy,
"Jesus! you scared me there, what's your name?" Ryan tried to be as casual as possible.
"Evan. And you're Ryan." His eyes were a deep gray, and seemed to pierce through his soul, like he could read his darkest secrets.
"Y-yeah, Ryan Al-" Evan put up his hand,
"No, starting today, you're part of this family, and your name is either Ryan, or Ryan Faulkner." He turned away and walked towards the garden, where Naomi stood, secretly watching Ryan as he turned back to the game of volleyball.
"Here goes nothing." He muttered, walking towards them. He just about managed to say hi when James ran up to him,
"Hiiiiiiiii! Are you the new boy?" He hugged Ryan's leg, squeezing it tightly,
"Um, yes, I'm Ryan... and you are?" He asked, slightly confused
"I'm James, that's Carolyn, that's Edmund, that's John, that's Sasha, and that's Sam." He pointed to the people, who were gathering round, ending with the boy with the undercut. "And over there is-"
"James, I think we can introduce ourselves, but later, the past few hours have been a bit of a blur, haven't they? We'll be introduced at Lunch." A boy with black glasses said, smiling in a somewhat evil way.
"Oh! But what's your name?" Sasha asked excitedly
"Ryan... Ryan Al... just Ryan." He stopped himself, remembering what Evan had said.
"Well, we still have a couple hours before lunch, wanna join us in volleyball?" Carolyn broke the ice again, gesturing everyone back to volleyball. Ryan shrugged, joining in the somewhat ridiculous game.
Angelo, Evan, and Naomi stood in the garden, watching Ryan.
"Is he a fit?" Angelo asked. Evan shrugged,
"It's to early to tell." He sighed, both of them turning to Naomi, who just shook her head,
"No, I don't think he fits." She breathed softly, her eyes suddenly hard with determination.
