ANNABETH

I would have come over to Sally's apartment days earlier if I knew that the look on Percy's face when he saw me would be priceless.

Sally and I were talking over cups of iced chocolates and freshly baked cookies when we heard the keys to the front slide into the lock.

"Looks like Percy's home," she said, smiling at me and the looking suggestively at the door. She didn't know that we were dating yet.

"Mom!" Percy shouted out, "The door won't open!" He groaned and banged his head against the door.

"Do you want me to get the door, or do you want to open it?" Sally whispered to me. I laughed quietly.

"You can get it."

"Is that Paul?" Percy asked, trying and failing to open the door. Oh, that boy.

"Wait, I'm coming," Sally sighed, walking to the door and twisting the door knob hard and yanking it open. I tightened my hands over my mug.

Percy looked better than he looked three weeks ago. His black hair was messily swept to the side, and his green eyes sparkled.

"That stupid door," he muttered, "We really need to get that fix -"

He spotted me and his mouth dropped open.

"What - what are you doing here?" Percy asked, dropping his school bag.

"You knew I was going to be in New York, Seaweed Brain. Weren't you expecting me to come over at least once?" I said, raising my eyebrow teasingly.

He walked over and crushed me in a hug.

"I missed you," he said.

"It's been three weeks, Percy." I laughed, hugging him back. From over his shoulder I saw Sally smiling at us. Blushing slightly, took a step back and let my arms fall to me side.

"You might have gotten killed." Percy taunted.

"Who? Me? Nah, I think you would be dead right now without me." I told him.

"Really."

"Yeah, I've been keeping count. Its something like a thousand to two hundred."

"Honestly, Wise Girl, I don't think its that much."

"Mmmm, I think yours was more like a hundred and fifty."

"Hey!"

After Percy had dumped his stuff in his room, he came and sat next to me in the kitchen.

"So where were you, Seaweed Brain? It's almost five." I asked him as he finished his second cookie.

His eyes flickered to Sally, who was walking to the living room with a book in hand.

"Detention...again."

I just rolled my eyes.

"So what happened this time?" I asked, reaching for his hand to stop him grabbing another sugar filled treat.

"Scythian Dracaena. Maths class." He said simply.

"You're not hurt?"

"River Styx, invincible, remember?" He said gesturing to himself.

"Oh, shut up, you." I said bumping him with my shoulder.

We sat in silence for a while before I remembered the time.

"Is it already five?" I yelped, looking up at the clock on the kitchen wall.

"I have to go!" I quickly slid off the stool, but Percy grabbed my wrist.

"Do you have to go?" He whispered.

"Yeah. I have to be back by five twenty for dinner. Boarding schools are strict on weekends like that." I told him, sliding my hand down slightly so that it fitted into his.

"Okay, Wise Girl. Will you Iris Message me?" He asked, squeezing my hand.

"Of course. I've got enough drachmas to last me for years. Mom thought they would be useful."

He smiled and stood up.

"Finally she's being helpful." Percy joked. Thunder rumbled up above, despite it being a clear day.

"I'm sorry!" He said to the roof, "I'll make sure she isn't late, I promise!" The thunder stopped suddenly.

We walked slowly to the door, our hands still together.

"See you soon, Wise Girl," Percy grinned.

"See you soon, Seaweed Brain." I let go of his hand and leant in to kiss him quickly.

"Are you going -" Sally walked into the hallway and quickly I pulled away. Sally just smiled.

"I knew it! I wish I had brought my camera. Now Paul and I can start the wedding preparations!" Sally said, laughing. Blushing bright red, I waved to Percy and opened the door to walk out.

"Don't leave me here with her!" Percy groaned, "She's going to tease me for the rest of my life!"

"Ha, sucker!" I cried out before waking down the hallway, listening to Percy's embarrassed groans and Sally's laughter.

No doubt she would tell Paul about us, I thought as I rode down to the lobby in the elevator, Two parents down, two to go.
