KC fidgeted in her seat. The founding ceremonies speech between her father, Christian Davidson and co owner, Darren Greggory of the D&G Enterprise had been finished. Invited guests had given them a heart warming applause. The waiters and waitresses were now serving the dinner and wine.

"Little Sis are you okay??," Caleb asked worriedly. "You look edgy." He fished for her hand under the table and squeezed it.

"I'm okay. ," KC smiled warmly at her brother. She was supposed to be having that long overdue heart to heart talk with her brother by now about her "relationship problems". That is, if Dylan didn't choose that time to indulge his father of his presence. As it is, she was always watching him under her lashes, observing him from a distance if he would decide to make a scene at his father's company.

She caught him standing up and going to their table. She hastily stood up and excused herself at her brother. "Cal... I'm just going to the powder room..."

Caleb nodded. Trixie, Sean's older sister had just arrived and headed to their table too. KC carefully fought her way to the ladies room. She breathed a deep sighed when she looked at the mirror.

"What's your problem KC?? I thought you wanted to see Dylan so bad but now that he's here why are you avoiding him??," she asked herself. In the span of eight years, Dylan's attitude had changed dramatically. His stance boasts of his confidence, he can wear the black tie suit now with ease while she cant even wear the proper shoes that goes with her outfit looking at her trusted sneaks hiding in her long slitted gown, his lips and mouth that always held a smile for her when they were young now always looked smirking. She puffed her cheeks. "KC. Bear with it." She patted herself and regloss her lips. She glanced at her watch. 10pm. About time they made their exit. They (her cousins and some close friends) were celebrating her birthday later in the night at her brother's house.

She loved her brother's house. That and the fact that she was one of the architect who designed it. Well, with the approval of her brother ofcourse. It was a warm evening and a pool party was really what she needed to cool down. They should be moving. Her brother's house was situated in the Star City and was a good thirty minutes ride from the D&G Building.

She peered outside first before heading out of the ladies room. She craned her neck and noticed that Dylan wasn't at his father's table anymore. Maybe he got bored and decided to go home early, she thought and felt somehow dismayed. She decided to head to the wine cellar and asked for white wine to clear her mind. She felt someone deliberately step on her shoelaces causing it to be untied and nearly tripping her.

"Sorry wife. I never thought you will still be wearing sneakers over a long gown all these years," he said while chuckling.

KC gasped and hastily looked around incase someone had heard Dylan.

"Allow me to re-do your laces princess," he said as he bend down and did just that. When he was finished he stand up so slowly and KC felt his hands travelling the length of her legs till it rested on her shoulders and squeezed it gently.

"Thank you," KC said curtly and proceeded to turned and got out of his grasp.

"Karissa Cassiopeia. You've been avoiding me this whole evening. I'm hurt." Dylan said loudly.

KC gasped for the second time. It's a good thing Dylan decided to call her at her given name and not "wife". If he did, he's dead she thought darkly. He smirked.

She was about to say something like a smart retort when someone tapped her shoulder.

"KC honey. Happy birthday." She turned and saw Austin Daniels. The son of her parent's new potential investor. Austin was about to bow down and kiss her aiming for her lips but she turned her head and his lips landed on her cheeks instead. Austin wasn't in the least offended. "Let's party tonight okay," he whispered seductively.

"Ah okay. Thanks Austin. I'm about to leave. See you later?,"

"You bet," Austin said winking. Dylan choose that time to butt in.

"I'm sorry but I think Ms Davidson meant a whole lot later. We were about to discuss some important matters."

KC looked at Dylan sharply. Austin on the other hand looked at her questioningly.

"Sorry for butting in. I'm Dylan Mitchell.," Dylan introduced himself smugly and held his hand. The name seemed to spark some familiarity with Austin and he shook his hands.

"Austin Daniels." Austin looked back at KC. "Well I better leave you two on your discussions so you could leave early." He bowed down again and kissed her cheeks.

When he was gone, Dylan grabbed her arm immediately and dragged her outside the hall near the elevator.

"Dylan, we have nothing to discuss. Let me go." She said indignantly. It's a good thing she was wearing sneaks or she would have been tripping the whole time. He press the elevator and pushed her inside.

"Dylan! What the hell are you doing??! My brother will come looking for me..."

He smirked. "I don't think so." He pushed her till she was backed and trapped on the wall.

"Let's discuss later but first this," His one hand pressed on the elevator button, his other hand tilted her cheeks, his whole body pinning her backed to the wall. "Happy birthday wife."

His head bowed down and captured her lips in a savage kiss.
