Before I was writer, I was wholly convinced I was gonna be an artist. Like even in my preschool yearbook it says "______ likes to capture the world with her drawings..." <- Literal quote (and yea, Estrella is not my real name). But eventually, in 2012, reading entered into my life. When writing was a possibilty, let's just say I've nearly abandoned drawing entirely. I wasn't good with structures and anatomy much. Meanwhile, I was sort of improving my prose with writing. But in a dark period of my life, I was like: Hey, why not give it a shot?
Then the art vs. artist trend came along.
I wanted to join but I was like, mmm, ehhh...
So I'm deciding to post it here:
I know, I cheated a bit- there's suppose to be like more photos than that, but honestly drawing is an idle hobby now. And I think I didn't include one more photo cause I wanted to somewhat showcase some others.
I drew all of these with no references so that's way it's all wonky :P
Choked in Ribbons and Gold
Yes, this was vent art. The first of the drawings that I kinda liked, mainly because it looks a little poignant.
When you try to draw a wolf and it looks like a fox :P
Break my Spirits
God, I make a lot of dark stuff... But yea, vent art :P
Made whilst watching a Victorian Era Mourning Fashion documentary
This lady's titled 'Heal' because she's actually stitching a heart back together. (yea, the heart sucks but I kinda like this piece overall because of the outfit)
Last but not the least, 1920's pinup. I actually love the detail on this one. (Tribute to my obsession with the Prohibition era and a 1920s story I was gonna make at some point)
