"Ava? That's it? " He asked.
"What do you mean that's it? Your name isn't any better. No.Ah.That's it." I glared at him.
"No, it's not that. Ava is a beautiful name but i just thought you'd have a long name," He chuckled.
Confused, i asked, " What? I look like a person with a long name? That's stupid."
"Not really. " He shrugged then asked "What's your entire name?"
"Ava Alexander Eliana Fraser."
And he laughed. He held his stomach and put his head on the table and laughed.
I started laughing also, not exactly knowing why i was.
He raised up, " What did i say? Long name indeed."
"Shush." I shook my head and took a sip of my coffee. Ah, heaven.
"Alexander? That's a new one." He said, closing his book and putting it in his bag.
"Yeah, i have no idea about that. I like it though." I smiled.
"Me too." He gave a small smile.
"Need a refill? " We both looked up at the soft voice by our table. Farah.
"Yes please." He smiled and then said " And i'm about to leave, so can you get up the stuff for me?"
Farah looked confused at first but then clicked her fingers, "Right. I will, Love." She smiled.
"Thank you." He said before taking a sip of his coffee.
"Need some more, Ava?" She asked.
"No, i'm good. Thanks. " I shook my head.
Feeling extremely exposed, i pulled at my sleeves. The sleeves that covered my fresh cuts.
It was the only thing i had to do, to stop the pain in my heart but releasing pain, i guess. It's funny how before i was against this. Cutting. I used to help people. I was involved in counselling and campaigned for people to stop. But now i'm doing the same exact thing i tried to stop.
I snapped up at the sound of Noah's voice, "Long sleeves in the ending of July? " He asked, with confusion lacing his tone.
I didn't know what to say. I felt like he knew. Like he could see my cuts.
"Some people are different and you shouldn't judge, Noah. " I glared at him.
"You should embrace them." He smiled, getting up.
i furrowed my eyebrows.
"What? Embrace what?" I asked.
He put his chair back in place and walk over next to where i was sitting. He lifted my hand and pulled my sleeves down.
"These." He went over to the counter and collected a brown paper bag and walked out. My eyes followed him until he disappeared.
I was baffled.
I didn't even get to ask him where he's from.
Well he was certainly something.
I left the coffee shop at around 3:14 pm.
It was 6:07 pm and i lay in bed, waiting for my mom to call me for dinner.
"Ava! Dinner's ready!" Mom shouted.
Aha. I have been waiting for this.
My dad was in the living room with his plate already.
