Chapter Three

Three more days passed before I was released from St. Mungo's.

"Mckenzie." dad called out.

"Yes?"

"I need to speak to you." dad replied.

"Okay."

Draco shot me an odd look before I walked downstairs to dad.

"I'm going off to work in two minutes." dad said looking quickly to his watch on his watch.

"You're mother and I have decided that we will let you keep this wand." he said, about to hand me the wand.

"But," he said pulling the wand away.

"You must promise that you will be careful and not to scare us like you did the first time. Am I understood?" dad asked.

I nodded while trying to contain my happiness.

Dad then handed me the wand slowly and cautiously.

And nothing happened.

I wasnt thrown across the room.

Nothing exploded.

I didn't even feel a shock.

"Don't you have to go to work?" I asked my dad.

"Right, good bye my dear. Tell your brother I said goodbye, and I'll be back at three to take you two to Diagon alley." dad said before he apparated away.

"Draco! Draco! Draco! I've got my wand!" I squealed excitedly.

"Cool! Now we can go curse some Gryffindor butt when we get to Hogwarts!" Draco said excitedly.

"But, what if I'm a Gryffindor... Or what if you are?" I asked my twin.

"We'll never be Gryffindors. We come from all Slytherin blood." Draco answered.

"What about the other houses? Is there anything wrong with them?" I asked.

"Ravenclaw's fine, but Hufflepuff is a disgrace." Draco scoffed.

"Oh." was all I could manage.

"Drake, what if I become a Hufflepuff?" I asked, starting to tear up.

"Like I said, you'll never be a Hufflepuff." Draco replied putting a comforting arm around my shoulders.

"I don't want to be disowned like Uncle Sirius." I said looking up to my older twin.

"He was a Gryffindor, not a Hufflepuff, but I don't know which is worse." Draco said, talking more to himself than me.

"Besides, mum and dad would never disown you. They like you better." he muttered while lowering his head.

"Never! Draco, mum and dad love us the same." I exclaimed.

"Maybe, but they're more protective over you." Draco sighed.

"I'm daddy's little girl, and you're mommy's little man. You just don't see that they love you just as much as they love me." I stated.

"But I still-"

"And you're the best brother in the world." I interrupted and plastered a grin on my face.

"I guess I am a bloody good brother." Draco laughed while dropping the previous topic.

"You are, never forget it Draco." I stated and hugged him before walking out of the room.
