A huge Thanks to a fan who made a new cover for Miss Independent! Looks great! :) Anyone else who would like to send me one feel free to do so I love seeing your ideas of what it should look like! Sorry it took so long to update! I love this chapter! I hope you all like it too! For those of you who thought Stark and Peyton were finally going to get together, sorry I'm not going to let it be that easy. Poor Stark as suffered for a long time, it's Peyton's turn. MUHAHAHAH Happy reading! :) Also wanted to know your opinion I'm getting farther into the plot would you guys like me to write more 'spicy scenes' or keep it PG rated? I would be adding these chapters in a restricted section so my young viewers can still read without being subjected to mature material. Let me know what you think.

Chapter 13: Closer Now.

Stark sat at a desk bored out of his mind. Thank God they were leaving tomorrow. This 'workshop' was so bogus. He looked at the instructor who was the typical therapist, he was super sensitive and nerdy. He had brown curly wire like hair and thick rimmed glasses over his brown eyes. He wore a pink polo shirt and khakis. He had a nasally voice and his laugh was annoying.

Stark glanced over at Peyton. He rolled his eyes she was such a teachers pet. She was sitting straight in her chair and had a note pad and pen taking notes, practically hanging on every word from Captain Feelings.

“Mr. Reed!” The instructor called.

Stark rolled his eyes and looked up.

“Yes. Mr. Zedd?” Stark said.

“Please call me Oliver” He said smiling brightly.

Stark sighed.

“Then please Oliver call me Stark.” He said.

“Okay, Stark. I've noticed you haven't been taking notes.” Oliver said.

Stark smirked.

“Wow Oliver, you are quite the observer.” Stark said.

The leggy blonde sitting in front of him giggled. Oliver glared at her. She sobered up. Clearing her throat.

“Stark, in this workshop you can't sit here and do nothing. I report back to your employer. You will have to participate. You have done something to be here, now it's time to find out why.” He said.

Stark rolled his eyes and looked at his watch.

“Oliver, I think it's time we come to an understanding. I am here because my boss thinks my partner and I will work better together. You will write on your little paper that I showed up to each meeting and I will go back, and return to work. I am a very busy person, I own other companies besides the one I'm running. I don't have time to play kumbaya.” Stark said.

Oliver snorted.

“Peyton, Stark. You two can do the next exercise.” Oliver announced.

Peyton jumped up and looked over at Stark who rolled his eyes and stood up with his arms crossed. She was kind of amused. She wondered if he was the same way when he was in school. The kid who sat in the back of the class refusing to participate. She giggled at the thought of him in the stereotypical emo garb with heavy black eyeliner.

Stark smirked at her.

“What are you laughing at?” He whispered.

She shook her head.

Oliver led them to the front of the room.

“Do you trust your partner Peyton? Be honest, and if you don't tell us why.” Oliver asked.

Peyton looked into Stark's eyes. She wasn't sure if she did fully trust him. Unfortunately she wished she was saying that in the strict business work relationship sense. No she meant that in the sense that he scared her. He was so complex that if she let her walls down and trusted him, he could crush her. He could break her beyond repair. He could ruin her. She couldn't let anyone have the kind of control over her. If she let him in, if she acted on what she felt it could kill her. She was too responsible for that. She couldn't let someone own her like that. She wouldn't give someone her whole self.
