Tia's POV

A flash of lightning precedes the resounding boom of thunder as we feverishly try to find our way home. Arjun's brow is furrowed as he stares at his phone hoping the GPS will be our savior.. "AAAAAAAAAGH! Iss kaminey phone connection ki tho!" he screams, dropping the phone angrily.

My face must have looked concerned because his expression softens a bit and he pulls me into a hug. "I'm sorry Tia. Me yeh din tumhare liye  special banaana chahaata tha but it looks like hamen ghar jaana ho ga."

"Don't worry." I smile reassuringly, "It was fun because I got to spend the day with you."

"I love you Tia." he says. Each time he does, my heart jumps a little.

"I love you too Arjun, but main abhi bhi Boobli ki hi yaddon sai joodi rahoon gi!" I smile while he chuckles.

We ride in a comfortable silence for a few minutes and then the car stutters.Arjun's face looks frightened as well as annoyed. He curses loudly (again) as the car is refusing to go forward. The rain still pours down on us and we are both drenched. We scramble back into the car. Arjun looks out of the window as if contemplating something and then looks to me, a determined look plastered on his handsome face. "What?" I ask confused. His cheeks turn a scarlet red and he take my hand in his.

"Tia, I know something sparked on the first day I met you. You were my support during hard times and you have always stayed by my side. You make everyone around you happy. You are one who aspires to take charge of the situation if anything goes wrong. These past three years, the times we spent together are memorable and I can't wait to make many more together. I promise that I will do my best to protect you and I will always love you."

I feel the tears coming to my eyes, threatening to spill out. Arjun reaches inside his pocket. He takes out a simple velvet-covered box. "My ladki beautiful, will you marry me?" His voice quivers slightly and the tears spill out of his eyes. Barely containing mine, I wipe his tears away.

"Yes!" I croak, on the verge of crying. "I love you!" He slips the ring on my finger. It is beautiful! I bring my lips to his and we share a slow kiss. As we break apart, he notices the pitter-patter of the rain and brings out his phone. "SO... How are we getting home?"  I ask, eyebrows raised.
