Nathaniel's POV

I ran to my angel's side before she completely fell on the floor. I checked for her pulse. She was still breathing, but it was faint. I quickly lifted her up bridal style and was about to carry her out, when I was stopped.

"I'll take her," Lucas tried to take my angel out of my arms.

"You took her away from me three years ago. I'm not going to let you take her away again," I growled.

"I was the one that ruined your marriage, but I'm the one she trusts right now, not you," Lucas retorted.

"Let's see how much longer that trust lasts," I scoffed. I carried her to my car, not caring about the looks I was getting from strangers. I quickly got her to the hospital and had her admitted.

"Mr. Brooks, the patient had a minor panic attack. She should be fine after some rest," the doctor told me. I sighed in relief. I thanked the doctor and he left the room. I sat in the chair next to the bed. I took Angelina's small soft hand into mine.

"I love you, Angel," I said as I fell asleep.

Angelina's POV

My eyes felt heavy as I was trying to open them. When I managed to finally pry them open, the bright light hit my eyes and I had to blink to adjust them. I tried to rub my eyes, but someone was holding onto it. I looked over to the side and saw Nathaniel holding tightly onto my hand. Shocked, I quickly pulled my hand away. The sudden movement made Nathaniel stir and eventually wake up.

"Angel, you're okay!" He cried, "Are you feeling okay? Do you need anything?"

     "Where am I?" I asked.

     "At the hospital," he answered.

     "What happened?" I asked.

"Well, we were at your office and stuff happened. Me and Luke got into a fight—" I abruptly stood up. That was a bad idea. The dizziness and headache hit me and I almost fell to the floor. Nathaniel jumped to my side and held me up. I pushed him away.

"Where's Luke?" I asked, "Is he okay? I have to see him." I walked to the door when Nathaniel stopped me.

"Can't you stop thinking about him for a second?" He yelled. I stood apathetic to his tone.

     "Is Luke okay?" I asked.

"He's fine," Nathaniel growled, "Angel, I want to talk about us."

"There is no us," I said with no emotion.

"Yes, there is," he argued, "let's get back together." I sighed.

     "Nathaniel—"

     "Don't say no," he pleaded.

"Nathaniel, I did have feelings for you and I've always dreamed of this day when you would come back and beg to get back together, but I'm sorry. Time has passed and I'm different from who I was in the past and you're different from who you were in the past. we both have to move on from this. I don't know what made you change your mind, but the pain and scars you left me just haven't healed and I doubt they will any time soon. I want you to be happy with Rachel and I will be happy with my new life. Nathaniel, please, just tell me where Luke is," I said truthfully. He stayed silent for a few seconds, digesting everything that I have said.

"It was Luke," was all he said.

"What are you talking about," I asked confused.

"The reason that I divorced you was because of Luke," he answered.

     "What—why—how—I don't understand," I replied.

"He sent me pictures of you sleeping with him," Nathaniel explained.

"You don't know that," I denied, "Stop lying!"

"I'm not," he continued, "he told me himself."

"Luke would never! He is my best friend! He wouldn't do that!" I yelled. "He wouldn't," I cried in a small voice. I fell to the floor in disbelief. Luke wouldn't do that to me. "I have to go talk to him," I said, "Where is he?"
