Fourth Day.
"How to be brave, How can I love when Im afraid..." I heard Christina started to sing all of a sudden. I stared at her.
She was holding fire woods, hugging them so tight as if she doesn't want to let them go. Her face was flushed because of the heat coming from the sun. I giggled mentally because of how messy she was. The shirt that she was wearing was full of leaves, her hair was splattered everywhere. I stretched my right hand and reached to remove some of the leaves on her head.
"But watching you spend alone... All of my doubt, suddenly goes away somehow." She continued to sing even though her eyes were looking up at me. I gulped the invisible lump in my throat because of anxiousness.
"Lalala..." I sang before looking down at her. "Haha! Just removing some leaves on your hair."
She ignored me. "One step closer..." Her voice was so soft. I looked down on her lips making the latter look away and spat my hand. "Can't you believe it?! It's our second last day!" She exclaimed sarcastically.
"Don't you like to go home yet?"
"I'd love too. But Im afraid that when we get in the city, people might forget about me."-Christina
"Like who?"
"You." She replied before turning to face me. "Ara and Jackie..." She passed me the woods making me stumble on my feet.
"I would never forget about you. How'd you say that?"
Sumimangot siya at saka nag umpisang mag lakad patungo sa left side path. "People come and go." She sighed. "They don't stay, well, yes, they do, but not as long as I wanted them to."
"There are reasons why people chose to stay or not to stay in your life. It doesn't matter if you like them or not."
"Hmm..."-Christina
"Let's say you wanted them to stay but they don't want to, what you need to do is to accept that and let them go."
"What if I don't want to let them go?"-Christina
"You're just hurting yourself." I shrugged stopping at the big maple tree. "Like this tree! It has a mark on it, it means they're going to cut it down. Maybe some individuals out there wanted this tree to stay here but due to some reasons it has to be cut down and we need to let it go."
"Trees doesnt have feelings."-Christina
"Some people are numb too!" I laughed.
"What are the reasons why people chose to go and leave someone behind?"-Christine
"You can answer your own question."
"What if I can't?"-Christina
"You can! You just need to find the answer deep in your heart." Sagot ko at saka sinipa ang maliit na bato. Hindi siya sumagot kaya napalingon ako sakanya. "What's so important about this questions anyways?"
"I wanted to know the answer from you. You have experience, you know." She said looking on the ground. "It is important. Do you like to see me acting stupid when the time comes that I will have a boyfriend?" Pasimangot niyang tanong.
Tumawa ako ng mahina. I looked at her in disbelief as she pouted her lips. "Are you for real?" Takang tanong ko at saka nginuso ang isang kahoy sa likuran niya.
Pinulot niya 'yon then she sighed when we were facing each other. "Im curious. I wanted to know how people deal with their shits!"
"Wow! Said the girl who explained why my girl doesn't like Davis!"
