"where are we going?"

"are we there yet?"

"mia, shut the fuck up." nate said. i knew he was getting annoyed with my constantly asking, but we've been in the car a little over half an hour and i want to know where this boy is taking me.

"i'm pretty sure everyone who's ever been kidnapped wants to know where they're going." i joked.

an amused look spread across nate's face. "i didn't kidnap you, you willingly got in the car."

"only because you bribed me with food." i laughed.

he glanced over at me with a smile that could melt me like olaf next to the fire. i studied his features; he was truly a piece of art if i must say. nice jawline, brown beautiful eyes, and long hair. i liked it when he wore snapbacks over and his hair fell out the sides. it was like that the next day he came over after i found him on my porch.

"what's your favorite color?" he asked randomly, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"huh?" i wasn't paying attention. i was too busy staring. oops?

"what's your favorite color?" he repeated.

"um, green." i shrugged. "yours?"

"red." he answered. "favorite sport?"

"basketball," i furrow my eyebrows. "what's with all the questions."

"figured i get to know you a little better." he shrugged. "might as well, because from the looks of it, you're going to be stuck with me for a while." he shot me another one of his infamous winks.

-

i looked out the window and the first thing i spotted was the hollywood sign many miles away.

"nate, you took me to hollywood?" i gasped.

he shrugged, "first place i could think off." he smiled. "you're going to love it, trust me."

something tells me he did this with mary jane and the causes me to thin my lips.

"what?" he asks looking over me.

i quickly shake my head and force a small smile. "nothing."

"so where to first?" he changes the subject.

i shrug. "i dont know. i know nothing about this place, you're the tour guide; guide me." i laughed.

"true," he nodded laughing. "well first, we gonna get something to eat. all this driving made me hungry."

we drove around for a little bit longer until nate spotted this hamburger place he said his buddy johnson took him to a while back.

i looked over the menu at all the different burgers. i used to think there were just cheeseburgers and hamburgers but i was corrected when i saw the blazing barbecue bacon burger.

"so many burgers." i said aloud.

"i think that's why they call it burger world." nate commented laughing at him.

i rolled my eyes but i couldn't help but smiling. the waitress came by and we ordered our drinks: me a sprite and nate a water.

"so you know what you want to do when you get out of school?" nate asked me.

"uh," i set down my menu. "yeah, i want to become a doctor."

"that's a long time to be in school. you not ready to get out yet?"

i shrugged, "whatever it takes to make my dream come true."

nate nodded, understanding and our drinks were placed down in front of us.

"what about you?" i ask. of course i know nate's graduated but i don't know if he's in college or working. "what do you do?" i sipped my drink through my straw.

"i uh," he looked down then made eye contact with me. "i make music."

my eyebrows raised. "you make music?" i'm confused. he nodded. "what kind of music?" i ask.

"rap. i call myself skate." he told me.

how come i never heard of him before. is he any good? why isn't he on the radio?

"my music aint for everybody. some people just don't understand." he shrugged.

"i would love to listen to your music sometime." i smiled at him.

"mary jane would always like to hear me rap." he smiled, playing with the napkins. "she'd make me rap about anything literally." he laughed softly.

i smiled and listened to him talk about mary jane, like usual.

"she could sing." he blurted.

"really?" i tilted my head to the side.

"yeah, she was pretty good. we'd lay a track together but it was only for fun. she'd never let me realize anything." he shrugged. i nodded to let him know i was listening.

"can you sing?" he asked startling.

i shook my head. "eh, i don't know. my friends back home said i was good but i never believed it myself."

"sing something for me." nate cheesed, leaning back in his seat on his side of the booth.

my eyes widened. "here?"

he nodded.

"like right now?" i kept stalling.

"yes mia, right now. now sing." nate laughed.

i quickly shook my head. "i could never. especially not on the first date." i teased, trying to lighten the mood.

"this is a date?" an amused look showed on nate's face.

i chocked on my sprite when i realized what i said. "i- uh, i mean-" i kept stuttering. god i'm such an idiot. why on earth would i say that?

i was confused when nate started laughing. "i'm fucking with you mia."

i coughed and picked up the menu again, "so um the blazing barbecue bacon burger..."
