my eyes fluttered open and i was greeted with unfamiliar setting, and something tight against my stomach. i remember that i slept over at nate's and that's probably his arm around me. for some reason my heart started to race and i can't quite pinpoint why, so many feelings are jumbled up inside me right now.

"are you up?" i heard a hoarse voice say from behind me.

"yeah." i said quietly. "did i wake you?"

"nah," he unwrapped his arm from around me and i heard him move about. "i've been up for a few minutes. you hungry?"

"yeah." i nodded. i reached over and grabbed my phone and saw no text from my dad. i furrowed my eyebrows, odd.

i felt nate shuffled off the bed. i noticed out the corner of my eye, his long arms in the arm. i turned my head and realized he was stretching. holy back muscles, my eyes widened. control yourself mia.

"i can only cook eggs, so that's what you're gonna get." was all he said before exiting his room.

i chuckled and sent a quick text to dana explaining how i dragged her into my lie and i knew she'd be excited that i spent the night at nate's.

i threw my phone back on the bed before getting out of bed, trying to remember my way around nate's house.

"mia?" i was greeted by swazz... i think, or is he johnson? no johnson's the blonde one. i think it's just john.

"hey john." i greeted with confidence. (hopefully that's his name.)

"what're you still doing here?" he furrowed his eyebrows.

i'm pretty sure he didn't mean it in a bad way... at least i think. wasn't he the one that asked if i was sleeping with nate? "um, i slept over. nate was too tired to drive me home." i answered.

"yeah," john smirked. "too tired." he mocked before walking away.

um okay? what did he mean by that?

i shook it off and continued on my quest to find nate; which wasn't hard because his house's not that big.

"morning!" he greeted me.

"we've already established this." i smiled, leaning against the cabinets.

"yeah, yeah, whatever." he grinned, stirring around the eggs in the pan. "uh, i usually don't make breakfast for my dates."

a playful smirk came across my face as i crossed my arms across my chest. "oh. so i was your date?"

nate lifted his head to look at me. "you're the one who called it a date first, ma."

i rolled my eyes, "yeah whatever." i walked to the middle of the kitchen.

"can you grab the orange juice from the fridge?" he asked me. "oh, and you still gotta sing for me."

"not happening." i said as i grabbed the jug of orange juice from the fridge.

"aw why not?" he pouted and turned off the stove.

"because i said so." i stuck my tongue out at him.

he stared at me with this unreadable look, but the smile on his face made me know it was just nate being goofy.  he pushed a plate a plate of eggs towards me. "eat up. i want you out my house."

i scoffed even though i knew he was just joking. "fuck you maloley."

"you don't sing on the first date but you fuck?" he asked with his eyebrow raised.

i rolled my eyes. "whatever."

"i'm just playing mia." skate said and i felt his arms wrap around me from behind me.
