Chapter 3 : Double Dribble

~PONS~

“Physics gives me the creeps Pons I really think I’ve had enough of it for today… it’s Saturday, young uns like us are supposed to be out in the sunshine having some fun right?”

Yen declared with a bitter edge in her voice and it didn’t escape Pons’ notice

“Like some guy we  know?”

Pons’ sudden reference to Troy only worsen the glum in Yen’s pretty face and 

“Well we’ve been working at it since 9 in the morning it’s almost twelve… let’s call it a day and  we’ll take up Trigo tomorrow?”

“Uggh and do what the rest of the afternoon?”

“Rest? Or you can call up Troy and ask him to come over maybe when he finds out that Physics out of the day’s agenda he’ll drop by… you know how much he hates Physics that guy…”

Pons tried to smile despite the sudden tightness in his throat

“Nah, I got a better idea… you know that my Mom wouldn’t allow me to go out unless it is school and it’s with you or with the girls right? Well, I just conveniently remember I left my extra Cellphone battery in my locker and the one I have here at home is bummed…”

Pons knew without asking that Yen wants to find out if Troy is really at the gym practicing just as he told her… Pons could sense that Yen just about had it with Troy’s little white lies, using ball practices as an excuse to hang out and go out with his teammates whose ideas of fun includes girls and booze

“Can we go pick it up then?” she finally asked and Pons just didn’t have the heart to say no…

Yen’s Mom allowed them to drop by at the school after lunch believing Pons will keep her little girl out of trouble, that means, Troy… Yen’s Mom couldn’t completely entrust her little girl to Troy despite the two years of Troy visiting   the Hondrade home…

They were still a few meters away from the gym but they could already hear the ruckus and the shouting inside, as if some sort of an informal game Is going on and when they finally entered they weren’t a bit surprise to find the team playing against the Girls Pep Squad, if one could call that a game at all…

Troy isn’t among those playing and when Pons saw where Troy was he felt the need to grab Yen and drag her away from the place but that is out of the question now since Yen already saw what he’s seeing… and that is, Troy and Lizzy, the pep squad queen engrossed  in a lip lock with their arms around each other… Pons saw the pained expression in the girl’s face and before he could say or do anything Yen is walking briskly towards Troy and Lizzy…

“So this is the important practice game that you couldn’t stay away from Troy?”  Yen glared at the Troy and Lizzie who both couldn’t speak because of shock…

“Well now you’re busted Troy, you lying piece of trash, and yes, Lizzy that goes for you too you’re both trash and you deserve each other…”

Troy let go of Lizzy and stood up  trying to catch up with Yen

“Yen, wait let me explain…” but Yen is running fast towards Pons’ direction

“Pons, let’s go… take me out of this damned place… now…” and then she grabbed Pons’ arms and nearly drags him with her towards the exit…

“Yen… we can’t go like this… let’s sit this one out and regroup ok?”  Pons begged Yen and when Pons looked back he saw Troy still trying to catch up…

“Let’s sit this out in the garden for a while…” and then Pons motioned for Troy to follow them in the garden…
