Chapter 1:

"Wake up Callie!" I whisper to my little sister, grabbing a bag from the closest. Stuffing, a few pair of clothes into it.

"Sis, make sure you keep the blue one, it's my favorite" she moans sleepyly.

"Shush, we don't want to wake anyone up, and get that sleepy body of yours out of the bed it's going to be morning anytime soon." I mumbled, pulling the sheets off her, shaking and kicking her off the bed.

"Okay, okay! Stop pushing me. I'm awake." She groaned, opening the bathroom door.

"Be down in five." I told her as I tip toed through the hallway to Ben's room.

Talking about Callie, she is 14 and has always been the most laziest and craziest amongst Me, Ben and herself. She has her own charm, that's what makes everyone fall for her quite easily. Along that, She is adorably pretty, a complete resemblance of my mother. She has her long brown hair with heart taking hazel eyes with a touch of green. Looking at her remind me of mother, and comforts me of her presence.

"Ben, open the door." I softly knock, making no noise.

"Hey Sis, Ready to leave?" he muttered, opening the door.

"Uhhh! Thank god you are up unless like Callie" I groaned in a tired voice, studying his room. It was a mess. The doors of the cupboard were wide open with all his clothes scattered around.

"How the hell did this happen? Was there a mini earthquake or what?" I scold him in a low tone.

"Chill sis, I just could not decide what to pack, so ... ." he trailed off, scratching the back of his neck.

"Th..that's ...hilarious, I'm speechless on your stupidity." I remark, gesturing my hands at the mess. "Whatever, hurry up." I mumble, plopping on the bed.

I want everything to be alright, maybe not today but soon.

"Hey sis" Ben captured by attention and continued "let's leave before...."

"Guys I'm ready, let's go." interrupted Callie handing me my suit case.

"Lets leave while its dark, yet." Ben informs.

"So what are we waiting for let's get rid of this hell!" exclaimed Callie a bit too excitedly.

"Let's get out of here" I said sneaking the way towards the exit.
The golden medallion was up from its bed, yawning its colors through the dark setrile sky, only a few early birds awake.
We tip-toed and padded towards the main gate, silently.
CLICK
OH SHIT!
I turned around to face Callie as a  statue with her eyes widened in terror.
"Do not move your leg!" Ben hissed.
"Could you a bit less reckless, you always mess things up!"
"Shush you... Am not reckless! Just sleep deprived, we woke up at freaking 4:00 in morning." She argued.
Oh god, couldn't things be a bit simplified?
Ofcourse this had to happen, its a tradition for things to go wrong everytime we try to get the hell out of here. And Ofcourse my sister had to step on a alaram trigger that was set for thieves, so that if she moves the they would be alerted and catch us.

"Whats to be done now? Cancel the plan?' Ben snaped me out.

No way I was going back in there.

"Ben open the gate, Callie don't even budge"

Ben kept his bags down and rushed to unlock the gates.
The sky was lightened but the darkness lingered.
I caried the bags across the street and kept them near the tall red pole.
"Sis, its about to be 5:30, Mrs.Somke will be out to water her plants." He warned me.
"Ben come over here, take these bags and run to the bus stop, Go!" I tell him, he gazes at me with concern and doubt and I nod in assurance.

"Callie on my 3rd count... run! As fast as you can, before the gates automatically get closed." I instruct her.
Meanwhile I scanned the area for something big, big enough to hold the door.
My eyes landed on a big rock, I rushed towards its direction and tried to carry it. The boulder was too heavy. I rolled it on the grouned and wheeled it towards the open gate and placed it in between.
"One"
"Two" I looked at Callie who just inhaled deeply.
"Three, Run!" I yelled the last count

Callie rushed from the stop, as soon as her leg lifted up the alarsm went on.
Callie rushed towards me and I noticed the window of the house flying open.
'HAY YO BLOODY KIDS, HELL WHERE ARE YO RUNIN OFF!!" The monster yells from the window like a madman.
Do we give a damn?
Not at all.
"Some better place where you won't be!!" I yell and grab Callies wrist and run off.
I could hear faint curses, but my legs were not ready to give up.

The two of us made our way to the bus stop only to find ben wainrin with the bags.
I glanced at wrist watch; it was still 20 mins from the bus arrival time. I turned around noticing Ben and Callie seated on the bench with ear phones plunged in. I sat beside Ben taking out my favorite book.

Me before you,

I just love it, i love it soo damn much that everyone else, (except me, of course! ) is restricted form touching it, I'll cut their hands if anyone dose. TOUCH MY BOOK AND YOU WILL HAVE NO HANDS LEFT TO TOUCH ANYTHING EVER, I know its not that threatening, but it works sometimes(it never works...lol). I flipped through pages until I felt my phone vibrating in my pocket.

"Hey Claire" I answered the call with a hint of tiredness showing through my voice.

It was obvious, I could not sleep last night, all those nightmares and screams had haunted me again.

Some memories never fade even as much as we want them to, they just haunt us for the rest of our lives.

"Sophia! Are you guys out of there?" she asked in a concerned voice, Claire is our step-mother and a kind lady, father married her just after a year when my mother died. She is a mother figure to us; every time we run away she's the one who helps us financially. I just don't know how she could fall for a man like my father, oh wait... its Daniel. That man does not deserve the tittle of a father.

"Yup! We are at the bus stop, presently." I informed her.

"Good! Now listen, when you arrive at the destination, grab a cab and make your way to the address that I texted you earlier, the house is owned by one of my friend's mother. She is old so do not bother her and I have send the allowance money for this month, use it well child. And call me when you reach there." Claire ordered.

It is quite heart breaking that our step-mother loves us more than our biological father.

"Yeah, okay! Thank you soo much Claire, We love you!" I informed her, just by then I could see the bus coming towards us. "I'll call you Claire, The bus's here."

"Oh! Okay, take care of Ben and Callie and have a save journey. Love you." she hung up as the bus arrived.

I fliped to see Ben and Callie standing with their bags, climbing up. I quickly grabbed my bag and followed. The bus barely had passengers. Ben sat at the window seat and Callie accompanied him. I took my place behind Ben.

And our journey begins.
