30 minutes later and I was approaching my work when I noticed 3 police cars outside, I paid the fare and walked over to see what the problem was.

"Hello, may I help you?"

"Do you work here Ma'am?"

"Yes Im a senior member of the board"

"Is there somewhere we can talk in private"

"Yes of course, my office.....would u follow me please"

I took the 2 officers along the corridor and to my office..I saw Emily on the reception desk and she stiffened upon seeing me...

"Hi Emily, Im going to be using my office to talk with these 2 officers"

"Of course Holly"

"Is Maz around?"

"Yes, she will be in the office"

"OK Thank you....Can you take any calls until further notice"

"Sure I can.........Holly its good to see you back"

"Thanks Emily, but I don't know how long for"

I opened the door to the office and maz stepped from behind the desk, upon seeing me tears filled her eyes and she came over and hugged me..

"Hey its ok.....I missed you too"

Maz noticed the 2 officers

"Can you leave us for the time being"

"Yes, no problem at all......I will be in the reception area"

I don't know what the problem was but I was determined to

"Would you take a seat gentlemen"

"Thankyou but we would rather stand"

"OK......so how can I help you"

"When was the last time you saw a Mister Giles Henricksson"

"Oh Giles.......about 2-3 days ago"

"And you haven't wondered why he hasn't been into work since that time?"

"Im sorry Ive only just come back from a few days off myself.......I didn't know.....Whats going on??"

"Im sorry to have to tell you that the gentleman in question was found dead in his apartment this morning"

"Dead?? Do you know how??"

"Yes......He was found hanging from a rope"

Oh my goodness, this was just impossible.......Giles would have no reason to kill himself

"I don't know what to say.....but I will help in anyway that I can"

"All we need to do is search these premises, his office for any indication of why he would do this, and we need a list of anyone who knew him"

"Was their a suicide note"

"Yes there was"

"Am I allowed to see it, Giles was as close to me as anyone in the company, he has no family"

The officer produced a piece of paper and a pair of gloves, I took it from him and read its contents

"It is with great sadness I choose to take this action......I have been very happy this past week but I don't think I can cope with these new feelings, to anyone who knew me, thankyou and goodbye"

I read it over and over again trying to fathom the meaning but I kept coming up empty, all I could think about was what would Becca say, they seemed to be getting on so well.

"Thank you for allowing me to read it, I can give you the keys to his office and a list of everyone who knew him although it will only have a handful of names on it"

The 2 officers thanked me, took the keys and the list and made arrangements to come back tomorrow.
