"Mr Saunders, wake up we need to discuss this." I heard a female voice that I couldn't recognise.
Who is this insolent woman how dare she wake the CEO.
"Get out of my office." I grumbled softly and heard laughter erupt from beside me.
"Get up Emile. Your not at the office." Emily nudged me awake and I opened my eyes and was temporarily blinded by bright fluorescent lights. When I became adjusted to the lighting I saw the doctor from last night standing before me, clipboard in hand.
I apologized profusely and she led both Emily and I to my niece's room. The walk to her room was filled with basic updates that took place while we were sleeping. " Good Morning, Mr. Saunders, Emily. We haven't properly met i'm Doctor. Alexzi Grecco." She said sheepishly.
She knows my sister. I'll ask Emily about this later.
"Now firstly, little Miss Saralyn has been moved to room 216. She's in perfect health now. I've prescribed her some painkillers for the headache she'll be having for the next couple of days." She looked at Emily and there was something in her eyes that told me I was missing something.
"I appreciate you taking care of my niece Dr.Alexzi but this is a rather strange situation you see. I have never before met my twin brother and his daughter . I'm fact before yesterday." My voice broke and I ran my fingers through my hair. Emily squeezed my hand to offer support as we were now outside of my nieces door.
I glanced at the door averting my gaze before I continued," I never knew they existed. A brother and a niece, I still can't believe it. I'm actually waiting for her mother to show up and clarify some things. So Dr.Alexzi please don't take this the wrong way but why are you having this conversation with me." Emily broke into a sob and the doctor fidgeted.
Emily spun me around and clasped my hands together, a tear falling as she did so.
What now? After all we've found out what else is there ?
I voiced my thoughts and asked them both," What is it your not telling me?" Emily started crying uncontrollably and a new voice spoke up after clearing his throat, " Sorry to intrude but i may be of some assistance in that department." Dr. Alexzi had walked over to him and then came back to represent him to me .
"He's a bit early but this is Andre Blackwood the social worker for niece's case. I think its best he speaks with you before i allow you to visit Saralyn so you better understand the situation."Dr. Alexzi said sympathetically.
Everyone has been giving me sympathy lately . I'm not the on fighting for my life.
"Emily are you going to join me in the room with her?" The doctor continued and my sister's eyes sparkled. "Doctor before you go, whats happening with my brother?" I asked and the social worker cleared his throat again interrupting, "I think we should have a talk first."
After the two ladies went into the room we went into the doctor's office to talk.
"I'll be honest with you Mr.Saunders this case is quite a predicament. The little girl was born at this very hospital on March 5, 2011 to parents Frederick and Sarah-Elizabeth Whitacker . The delivery went fine however, shortly after Sarah-Elizabeth's heart rate started to drop and sadly, she died. Her cause of death was a suspected embolism, an obstruction of an artery either by a blood clot or amniotic fluid. " Andre paused as if seeking permission to continue.
