I woke up to the sound of rustling clothes. I begrudgingly opened my eyes and saw Eric's shirtless body stretching in the middle of my room, his back turned to me. My eyes lingered shamefully on his defined back. Muscles like thick rope rippled as he pulled his arms over his head and lent back.
I sighed and his head snapped around making my jump slightly. I quickly averted my eyes to the pattern on my duvet. Wow, I really like this pattern, best pattern I've ever seen.
I heard a cheeky chuckle and I looked back up at him, no doubt that I had turn a lovely shade of red.
"Good morning, Ruby." he said seductively.
Eh?
"Morning." I smiled sweetly.
After a moment of absorbing the fact that Eric had been in my bed, with me, I freaked out a little bit.
"Wait... why were you in my bed?" I looked at him and raised my eyebrow.
He cleared his throat "You invited me over for dinner last night. Remember?" he said incredulously.
I thought about the events of last night. I invited him over and we ordered a take-away pizza to share then we watched a scary movie. I don't remember which one though.
"Oh yeah, I remember now. Sorry." I laughed humorlessly.
"It's fine." He winked and I blushed again and hid my face behind my hair. Curse my pale skin!
I stretched my aching limbs and yawned, closing my eyes. Now, it was my turn to catch Eric taking a sneaky peek at me. I opened my eyes and saw him quickly look away from me and study the door. His expression suddenly changed to that of horror and he quickly ran out of the room. I heard something drag along the floor for a brief second, and then his heavy feet pound down the stairs.
Overcome with shock it took me a moment to get out of bed to see what was wrong.
Before leaving my room I took a quick glace in my mirror and blanched. Oh, my God! I looked like someone had died. I quickly wiped the black smudges from under my eyes and pulled my hair into a messy bun on the top of my head.
Slightly more satisfied with my appearance I left the room. I briefly examined the floor where I heard Eric pick something up. I then followed his route down the stairs and looked around for him. I saw him coming out of my kitchen door a sandwich in his hand.
I gave him a questioning look.
"I was really hungry." he mumbled through a full mouth.
I laughed at his silly face and he just shrugged. I wiggled past him into the kitchen and got myself a glass of water.
"Aren't you hungry?" a worried voice came from behind me. I turned around to meet Eric's furrowed brow.
"I'll eat later, I'm not hungry right now." I smiled at him and patted his cheek as I walked past him to the living room. I threw myself on the sofa and turned on the news channel. The news reporter was a handsome man in his mid thirties. I wasn't paying attention to what he was saying until the name of my town was mentioned.
"A large group of men, ages ranging from twenty three to thirty one have been arrested and taken into custody due to the evidence pointing them to the culprits of the recent string of murders in south England. The police were called to a house, by a young survivor of a family who had been brutally murdered by these men, to find them inside searching for the little one." Six pictures were flashed across the screen. These men were frightening. They all had black shaggy hair and black eyes. Their expressions were ruthless and menacing. These men sent shivers down my spine.
