The falling city in Sokovia shocked the entire world. It certainly surprised Karin.

Every town Bucky and she migrated to whisper about the city, the losses. It saddened her, because those twins she recruited didn't deserve this. Karin probably had a near negative impact on them, since she manipulated Pietro, one of the twins, to think that HYDRA's experiments were a true miracle.

She can't perfectly recall the memory, but there was always a sense of anger on their faces.

"We should meet them," Karin says, walking past a shack in the Czech Republic. "Steve is probably going through a hard time... And the events in Sokovia...He doesn't deserve this kind of stress."

Bucky's eyes flash between her and the streets before crossing. The unease in his features told Karin that it wasn't a topic he wanted to get involved with.

"I could meet him then?" Karin adds. She pulls him towards her and wraps her arms around his waist. "There's going to be a time when you need to see him again. Rekindle the relationship..."

Bucky held onto the fabric of her sweatshirt. "I don't trust myself around them, Karin."

She nods, knowing that this topic was done. Bucky didn't just not trust himself, he loathed himself. Karin knew, the energy and colors around him were always stiff. Although her energy manipulation was under control, there is some energy that just can't go away. Bucky's brainwaves have calmed since last years incident with the helicarriers, but she always feels like she is invading his brain.

Karin's powers were too strong for her, too much to understand when they are undercover. She only ever gave it until now. Right now, looking inside the brain of Bucky. The pulses she sees in his brains are as far as she wants to go. Karin knows, since she found out she can escape her own body in third person view, that she can see through him as well. And it beckons her, to cradle her ability and use it.

But they were undercover. Fugitives, criminals.

"Then we will no go," Karin says for the final time, "because if you are not ready, then neither am I."

And it was the truth. Right now, it was only them in this country.

"But."

Bucky sighs, "I knew you would have to say more."

"The twins, Bucky. They are children. I need to see them."

"What if Steve is there, Karin."

Karin pecks his lips with a kiss and smiles at him. "You have nothing to worry. If he sees me, then I will disappear." She takes in the light energy coming through the windows and combines herself with them.

"It's like your transparent," Bucky whispers, brushing her face with is metal arm. He hesitates and pulls the arm away.

"I absorb it all, take it in and make it my own. I can feel the electricity...the beat of a heart and a single vibration in the human brain. I can do a lot of things, Bucky. I'm not human."

"What makes you say that?"

She smiles at him and lets a few sparks of purple circle around them.

"There was a lady I knew after Steve had supposedly died. She told me about my family, how odd my mother was and angry my father was. They're dead now, obviously."

Bucky says nothing. Aware of mentioning the word "parents", Karin sits him down on the bed.

"Do you remember your parents?"

"No," he mumbles.

"Do you want to talk about them?" Karin asks warily.

Bucky shakes his head. "Find the twins, love," he tells her in Russian. "See if they are okay."

Karin felt the need of wanting to see Wanda and Pietro. But she also knew that staying with Bucky after her talking about her parents was a weak spot for him. Karin herself didn't even remember most of the times before the war.

"Later," she responds in Romanian, a language they both knew.
