Clarke has never felt so content before. This past hour with Lexa has been the best hour in her entire existence in the sky or on Earth. She feels absolutely speechless as she lays on her side staring at the Warrior's back, running her fingers over the soft, yet firm and war-scarred skin.
Lexa's body was everything Clarke imagined, plus some. Her tan skin was a story that Lexa lives outside, always in tune with nature. Her toned muscles were not big, but they were firm and full of strength and power, (as she showed back when she was challenged by the Ice Queen to fight the Prince, who Clarke saw take down 4 men without a hitch, but that did not stop Lexa from beating him in the challenge and killing him.) Her abdomen was toned with the outline of a six pack. Which Clarke had to admit was incredibly sexy and intoxicating. Her strong shoulders were slim, but Clarke knew she could put all of her trust, pain, and worries on them.
The tattoos on Lexa's back and body are memorizing to Clarke. She has seen many of Lexa's tattoos before, but not all at once, and not this intimately before.
The one on her arm looked more like a Commander symbol, and Clarke realized that it was added on to since their first meeting. It was almost like it was segmented and was going to be added on some more in the future.
The one on her back takes up all of the center of her back. Black circles and symbols swirl around her back, from her shoulder blades to the very small of her back, making it seem never ending. Clark counts 7 circles and wonders what this tattoo actually signifies.
One thing she has come to learn is that all tattoos have great meaning and significance to the owner of the tattoo. Obviously, Lexa has many stating to others that she is Commander, but Clark wants to know what exactly each one means to Lexa; are they just formalities that come with the title of heda or was it of her own choosing and life experience and wrote the story of the tattoo?
"I got that on my Ascension Day." Lexa states. She felt Clark's soft fingers playing with her back and tracing the tattoo, and she knew the blond was thinking what it meant with how she stayed focused on it.
Clark clears her throat, by obviously being caught by the girl from her attention given to her back, "Oh." Clark pauses and thinks to herself for a moment, "What do the circles mean?"
"Each circle is representing each nightblood that died in my Conclave."
Clark looks at Lexa with a quizative expression, "I thought you said there were 9 nightbloods in your Conclave? Why only 7 circles? What happened to number 8?"
Lexa turns over and gives her a very disappointed face, "Can we talk about something else, please?"
Clarke just smiles at Lexa, even though Lexa does not want to talk about such things now, doesn't mean she doesn't trust her any less. She understands not wanting to bust the mood at the moment. "We don't have to talk at all."
Lexa smiles and leans her body into and over Clarke to slowly kiss Clarke, wanting to continue there explorations of each other's body.
They continue the dance for a few more short moments, but the time has come to part ways as the sun is quickly evading them.
Clark sighs once and looks at Lexa's peaceful and sleeping form beside her.
'She is beautiful.' Clark thinks to herself. Trying to burn this moment into her memory to draw later. As of lately, Lexa is all that Clark can seem to think about. So, she had his bright idea that if she drew Lexa, the thoughts would go away, but that was not the case. For every time she opened her sketch pad that Lexa found for her, she saw all of the drawing of the breathtaking Commander. Lexa was her muse, her purpose, and her strength.
She couldn't run from this. She knew it, but the past they shared made it hard not to want to hate the Commander, but that was just it. Clark could hate the Commander for leaving her at the mountain, but she could never fault her for it. She could hate Lexa for leaving her side that dreadful night. Blame her for all of the blood on her hands, but it wasn't Lexa's fault. She didn't want to leave, she swore an oath to her people, and she stayed true to her word. She saved all of her people with that deal.
Clark had long forgiven Lexa, but fighting the feeling she felt for the girl was a waste of time and breath. Lexa did what Lexa did for her people, and Clark did what Clark did for her people. They had no control over their own lives. They had to keep their people sage. Stay strong for them. Lead them. Kill for them.
In the end, their people came first. As is the case at this very moment. At this very moment, Clark is forced to go to her people and help them again. To leave Lexa's side. To choose her people over Lexa.
She looks at her one more time. She knew that Lexa has not really been sleeping well. The people are keeping her up for days on end so she figured she would go get a few things for the journey ahead and come back to whisper a goodbye to Lexa just before leaving.
Clark gets up slowly, trying not to wake Lexa, and puts on her grounder garb. She has to admit that she loves this new style that Lexa picked for her. It was a great mix between her old sky crew garb and tree crew garb. A black leather jacket with a sewed on shoulder shield and spikes. Black tight pants that have many different compartments to store many items and weapons in. Lexa even gave her a face charcoal set for security and hunting reasons. Clarke thinks her favorite thing about the garb is the bindings, though. They were way more comfy than those that she wore on the Arc, and we're very nice to run because Clarke was more blessed than most girls, so keeping the 'girls' under control is a very good thing in Clark's opinion.
She walks out of the room quietly, and turns to stare back at the Commander as she is still resting peacefully, as she closes the door.
Well. There is Chapter 2. Opps. Did I stop at an inopportune time? Oh well. Guess you will have to wait to see what happens!! Thanks guys!
