The Serpent Alchemist ( on hiatus )

Chapter 6

I stared in awe at their apartment , wandering through the rooms and out onto the small balcony . " It's so tidy , and so -so individual , it must be pretty nice to have this place to yourself " Alphonse followed me out onto the balcony " it is pretty cool but I miss home sometimes " I turned to him noticing the underlying bittersweet tone ." Where's home for you guys then ?" I asked grabbing his hand and tugging him inside again so I could sit next to him comfortably on the floor . " Resembool " ed answered from the kitchen , " what was it like ?" . Al answered this time " Resembool's a small rural town , all rolling hills and quiet rivers . All the people are friendly an everyone knows everyone else ." I nodded thoughtfully " I want to live in place like that ,peaceful and tranquil " .

Ed walked back into the lounge room with a couple of plates of food , handing one to me he sat down at the table and started eating .

I joined him glancing over at Alphonse " aren't you going to join us ?"he poked his fingers together , suddenly looking like a reluctant child .

"ah , no thanks I'm on a diet for training" I nodded and pulled out a chair anyway patting it . " come sit with us anyway " .

He looked surprised but joined us happily anyway , I dug into the food ." Hey ,Ed you're not a bad cook " he looked affronted " I have many talents " I snorted and laughed while swallowing a mouthful of mashed potato .

" I'm sure you do "

~ time skip , for fun ~

He lead me to a guest room which looked like it had never been used other than as storage " so I get this whole room to myself , wow , thank you !" .

Ed waved his hand , "it's fine it's fine " . I turned around and hugged him taking by surprise " goodnight ed and thank you for letting me stay in your apartment " .

Leaving him in the door way I went and found Al , who was currently standing on the balcony , skipping up behind him I tapped him on the shoulder causing his armour to echo .

"I just wanted to say goodnight Al and thanks for inviting me to stay here " I stood on my tiptoes and kissed his helmet quickly before turning back to head to bed .

I closed the door to the bedroom behind me leaving two stunned elrics in my wake . I quickly stripped off and dove onto the bed , snuggling into the blankets I released my tail and fell asleep comfortably .

       ~time skip to next morning ~

I yawned loudly and wandered into the lounge room without bothering to disguise my tail and scales . " Morning Alphonse " I wandered into the kitchen and started rustling through the cabinets for breakfast .

I somehow managed to assemble a bowl of cereal wandering back into the lounge room I sat down on the couch and coiled my tail up to listen to the radio .

" did you sleep well Tanith ? " I nodded , my mouth full " best nights sleep I've had in a while "I smiled at him " so what are you and Ed doing today ?" he looked curious at my statement but seemed to brush it off " we're going to be studying some books at a another alchemists library for a personnel project " I lit up and swallowed my mouthful quickly " do you think there'll be books in there I can use to study for the state alchemist exam ?!".

He nodded slowly " there should be but you'll have to ask Tucker if you can use his library " I grinned and hopped off the couch " great !".

I got dressed properly and changed my tail into a pair of legs . Skipping out into the kitchen I found Ed and Al talking " let's go then !" . Ed grinned back " ok then " .

(We all know where this is going )

We stopped outside a large old house that gave off a vaugely derelict feel . I waited behind ed and al , as the large door opened to reveal a man in glasses .

I stepped forward " hi there , I'm Tanith , I'm friends with the Elric brothers an I was wondering if I could read in your library to study for the state alchemists test ."the man seemed taken aback by my abruptness but I didn't exactly have time to contemplate it so as soon as he uttered anything that sounded like a yes a thanked him profusely and filed in behind Al.

Stepping into the library I took a deep breath and skipped over to the nearest shelf to start collecting useful looking books in my hands, it didn't take all that long so the pile became a bit much for me to handle simply because of their shape and size.

( sorry readers I'm gonna put this story on pause cus I honestly have  no ideas on plot , if you wanna request a direction I'm happy to do that and if lots of you guys want me to continue with the story I'll try harder but for now ....
