Henry James- Part 3 of the 'An Insane Situation' trilogy

Chapter 7

We arrived at the hospital in record time and all of the parents jumped out. Chloe picked up Liyla and I cradled Katie in my arms. She was still crying. Alicia and Harry had taken James in and Danielle had Grace's hand in hers. Eveline had Yasmin in one arm and Niall's hand in the other and Mum and Dad were rushing in with Jonty while the rest of us were slowly walking in.

"Let me take her from you." Harry said, taking Liyla out of Chloe's arms before rushing into the hospital. I quickly walked in, following the others to some chairs outside of a room. I sat down, shushing Katie wiping away her tears.

"Mummy's gonna be fine sweetheart." I whispered, pushing her hair out of her face.

A few hours passes and all of the little kids around me were sound asleep. The only person in the room with Perrie was Zayn.

The door opened and a nurse popped her head out.

"You may come in now, give them some space though." She said sweetly.

I stood up, and Katie stirred in my arms, waking up. Oh well, she'll get to see her little brother or sister now.

We all walked in and I took Katie up to the bed where Perrie lay, a tiny wrapped-up baby held close to her body.

"It's a boy." Zayn said, looking lovingly at his son.

"His name is Aaron." Perrie whispered, looking at us all. Zayn took Katie from my arms and we all left to let Perrie and Aaron rest.

"A little boy. Just what you wanted ey Zayn?" Harry said, nudging him.

"Yeah. You've got a little brother now Katie, isn't that good?" Zayn said, wiping the tears from under Katie's eyes. She nodded and then buried her face in his shirt.

"When can I see Mummy?" She said quietly, her voice muffled by Zayn's shirt.

"Soon sweety, soon everything will be back to normal again. You'll just have a little brother, that's all." He said, rubbing circles in her back.

If only she knew how little attention she'd be getting from now on. This reminded me of when Aimee was born.

Flashback

"Louis! Where's Aimee's dummy?!"

"I don't know Hay, but we need to go NOW."

I waddled around, Toby's hand in mine. I was so confused.

"Come on you two." Dad said, picking us both up so we were on either hip. I dropped my teddy in the process, and that whole day of rehearsals and interviews I was crying. Nobody noticed though, because I didn't scream and yell. I was sick of Aimee doing that. I just sat silently, tears streaming down my face as Toby played with his car. Aimee, Luke and Daisy were all with their parents and here I was with some random baby-sitter who couldn't care less. I missed my Mum's attention. I wanted my teddy.

End of flashback

I decided to make a promise to myself, that I'd always give Katie attention. I'd visit their house and take her and Grace out for ice-cream, especially after baby-Payne was born.

Toby and Chloe are now dating, no surprise there, and have been for a couple of days. I wont go into the details of their date, because when Chloe told me I wanted to puke, but they had a romantic picnic dinner which ended in a kiss. Ew.

"Well we'll see you all when we see you then. Perhaps you could all come around for tea on Wednesday?" Mum said, her hand on my back.

"Sure thing. Have a good rest of day." Liam said, pulling her into a hug. Aw.

"Bye everyone! Cya Katie." I said, kissing her head which caused her to giggled and bury her head more into Zayn's shirt.

We all piled into the van and made a stop at Chloe's house, dropping her home.

"Are you sure your parent's are going to be ok with this? Your like 2 hours late." Mum said, looking worried for Chloe.

"They wont mind. There probably fussing over Felicity and work as usual. Thanks for having me, and asking me to babysit. I really appreciate all the money and everything and just, wow. Your like my second family." Chloe smiled, looking directly at Toby.

She gave him a quick kiss before hugging me and getting out of the car.

"Bye!" She waved, rushing over to her small house to find Felicity on the doorstep.

A ramshackle old house, hard working parents and a brat of a sister. I think that was the first time in my life that I felt sorry for Chloe.
