By the time I got home and walked through the door, my mum is already home. I called out a hello to her, and she requested I came into the kitchen to talk to her. As I was walking through the kitchen doors she greeted me.

"Hello honey, look now while your here I'm about to get started on dinner so what do you feel like? I was thinking.."

"Actually mum I'm going out for dinner, is that okay?" I say looking down, not wanting to catch her eye. Smash!

I look up to see the plate that she was holding now shattered into a million pieces on the floor.

"Oh honey that's fantastic!! Who are you going with!? I'm so proud of you sweetie"

"Mum! What the heck!?" My mum looks at me with an odd expression

"What darling?" Is she kidding me? She just destroyed that plate!

"There is broken.. What ever that is.. Plate all over the floor!" I say exasperated. "I'll just grab the broom"

"Oh honey don't worry about that!" She says, "I want to know all about where your going, who's your friend?" It takes me a minute to register what she just said.

"Oh um well I'm not actually sure where were going..." I start. Still shocked mums allowing this.

"That's okay, what about who's taking you? What's her name?" She asks

"His name" I correct. "And it's Jason, Jason Smith" with this knowledge my mum shrikes, I mean she actually shouts with joy.

"Honey you didn't tell me it was a date! And I bet he's coming to pick you up isn't he? What time will he be here? My little girls going on her first date" she gushed.

"He's picking me up at six but mum it's"

"Six!" She replies cutting me off "what are you doing down here talking to me!? You should be getting ready for your date! What are you going to wear? Oh honey, lets go get you ready!" And with that she leads me up the stairs and into my room to help me 'get ready for my date'. Because apparently I don't know how to dress myself. Over an hour later my mum has curled my dead straight brown hair, and is finishing my makeup, making my green eyes pop, which much to my disliking I am being forced to wear. I hate makeup! Waist of time if you ask me, but no!! I have to wear it!

"Oh honey you look beautiful!" mum says as she takes a step back to look at her master piece. "And your not even dressed yet. What are you going to wear? Lets see..." She takes a look in my wardrobe and pulls out a bright green dress with thick straps. It looks like it would sit a little above my knee, and it has ruffles. It looks really pretty. But I've never seen it before in my life.

"Mum i don't know where that came from but it's not mine. I've never seen that before. And besides, I don't know where we are going. I don't want to look to dressy." My mum grins at me

"That's because I never had a chance to show you it when I bought it. I actually forgot about it till today. Go put it on! I promise you it's absolutely perfect! I'll lay some jewelry down for you on your bed and ill be in the lounge room if you need me"

"Okay fine" I grab the dress and take it off it's coat hanger. It is a very nice dress. It can't hurt right? I quickly text Jason my address, remembering only then that he still had no idea where I lived. Oops. I put my phone down and pull on the dress an look in the mirror, I actually look good seeing I'm all made up. I grab the jewelry mum set out for me; a simple ring and a pair of green earring that match the dress exactly and put them on. I wonder if she got the earrings at the same time? I'm finally ready and start walking down the stairs as I hear the doorbell ring. My heart starts to flutter and I begin to get nervous, but I'm excited and happy at the same time. How can one person feel so many conflicting emotions at the same time? As I get to the bottom of the stairs I can see Jason and my mum talking at the door. They both to look up at me and my mum gapes, but I'm to distracted by Jason. He's wearing a pair of dark blue jeans and a green button up shirt. Okay that's just freaky! We match, that's friggen embarrassing. But that's not why I'm distracted by him, not by the fact at how hot he looked right now, but at the way he was looking at me.
