The next day...
Crystal's P.O.V
"Good Luck!" I yell to Amy as she and the girls get in my red 2016 Nissan Maxima. Amy's car is in the repair shop, so they're taking mine. I sighed and closed the door, about to head up to my room and get a couple of things when I bumped into Shadow.
"Oof! Sorry," I said, getting up. I look around and notice all the boys looking at me.
"What?" I ask, confused.
"Where are the other girls?" Sonic asked, also there. Yeah, he's already healed and all. Pretty quickly for a hedgehog. No, I'm just kidding, earlier today Amy and Cream all healed him.
"They just left," I answered.
"Where?" Silver asked.
"Why is it so important to you?" I ask sharply, annoyed. The boys have been like this recently, always worrying about them and their safety. They even yelled at us for going out yesterday. My guess is that each of them likes one of the girls, causing them to be overprotective.
"Crystal..." Shadow says quietly, still beside me. I blushed and looked away from him, breathed in and out, then faced the boys.
"Fine. They went to meet the world-famous pop star, Mina the Mongoose. And now if you excuse me, I'm late for a meeting." I tried to go upstairs but Knuckles blocked me.
"Seriously! What do you guys want!?!" I ask furiously, turning around to face them one last time.
"We don't want you to go alone. It would be fine if the other girls were going with you, but they're not." Tails said softly. I calmed down a bit, realizing that they're just worried about me.
"Don't Worry, I'll be fine. I can protect myself." Suddenly, Sonic spin-dashed towards me, not giving me a second to react.
"If you really could, you would've been able to stop that," Sonic said, unrolling.
"Wha? You didn't even give me a warning!" I yelled at him.
"Exactly. Villains aren't going to warn you, they'll want to catch you off guard," Sonic said, probably speaking from experience.'It's not fair, though, he's the fastest f*cking thing alive!' I thought furiously. I sighed and calmed myself down.
"Fine. What do you want to do? 'Cause I have to go to that meeting because, as of now, I'm 10 minutes late and I have to take a 30-minute train ride to get there." I told him, still a little frustrated.
"Let Shadow go with you." He replied, almost instantly.
"What?!?" Shadow and I both exclaimed.
"You heard me, let Shadow accompany you there and back, making sure you're safe at all times," Sonic said calmly. I stared at him in disbelief. As much as I wanted Shadow to come with me, I have noticed how he's been distancing himself from me. 'What am I supposed to do?' I wondered, my face heating up as I looked at Shadow. Finally, I mumbled, "Fine," and headed upstairs to my room, pushing Knuckles out of the way.
The moment I reached the door, I slam it closed and drag myself down to the floor, my back facing the door. 'Why? Why, why, why? Why can't I understand my feelings towards Shadow? One moment I'm blushing and can't speak towards him, the next I could care less about him! Why is it when he's around me, I can't concentrate?!?'
"Ugh!!" I yell, getting up. I go to my closet and pick out an outfit since I'm still in my pajamas. I took a shower last night, so I shook out the thought of Shadow and started to change into my blue skinny jeans, a red tank top, a blue jean jacket, my red converse, and my 2014 Lindberg glasses with its lens' replaced with fake ones and put them on.
