“Lela, are you sure you don’t want to ride with us? I can let you sit riiiight here.” He rubbed his bulging crotch and licked his upper then bottom lip, then bit the air harshly at her. She cringed and threw a fake laugh at him.

“Nah, I’m fine. Maybe next time.” She grabbed the bottom of her dress as terror raced through her.

He frowned, his drunken green eyes glazing over making it impossible to tell whether he was going to ignore her answer and just do what he wanted, or respect it and leave her alone. Finally he sighed waving a hand at her in dismissal as he grunted about her being a damn uptight cunt. Anger bristled through her but she was already lucky enough that he didn't have his way with her, so she didn't push her luck with retorting with something along the lines of asshole or prick. Instead she slid out of her heels and began the long trek home.

She took a short cut through a brightly lit alley way, the wet stone was cold against her blazing cramped feet. She was thankful to be out of those heels. She ran a hand down her thick dusty brown, curly hair pulling in her bronze lower lip, her lip gloss was smudged down her chin and it sparkled in the bright lighting. She sighed wishing that she had brought an over coat as the wind blew through her skin tight dress sending chills through her thin body. She laughed, she was walking down an alley way half drunk- this had horror movie written all over it.

Suddenly as if on Cue she heard soft quick footsteps behind her. She hugged herself tighter as she picked up the pace. Terror clawed its way up her throat making it difficult to breath, her breath came out in small huffs as she sped up as the person neared. Glass suddenly sliced into her foot creating a deep wound that hurt enough to make her stumble in numb pain and astonishment. Her hand flew out connecting with the wall in an attempt to steady herself. She whipped her head to her left looking for whoever was following her. The light glared into her eyes mixing with her glitter making it impossible to see who the assailant was. She cursed in her head and looked back in front of her and tried to continue walking.

The pain in her foot was pulsing and the glass was still ripping further into her flesh. Her hand was still pressed against the wall and jagged pieces or stone bit into her palm and fingers. Her heart was racing and her breathing was becoming ragged the air around her seemed to vanish and thick black walls of nothing started to close in around her.

Suddenly they were gone and she was still. Tiny blood droplets traveled down her palm and wrist splattering to the ground in such soft sounds she could barely make them out with her pounding head. Her eyes slowly fluttered open, her thick eye lashes were wet with tears and her lashes began to cling together with her bottom lashes. She slid to the ground her dress becoming soaked with a mix of dirty alley water and thick crimson blood. Her head tilted to the side in denial of what was happening.

What was happening?

She choked back tears, her bottom lip quivering madly. She slid her face into her hands her face quickly became a mix of sweat, blood, tears, and make-up. Suddenly hands were clasped under her arm pits and she was being lifted up. She lashed out with her legs connecting but they never wavered. They didn’t even grunt in pain. Terror raced through her and survival became the only thing she could think about. She struggled with all of her strength, but still they never wavered never faltered if anything their pace picked up. There was a sudden wash of calm and peace over her, her eyelids instantly dropped and her shoulders fell forward along with her head. She smiled and became drunk with this new utopia that had seemed to have found her. She slowly forgot about whoever was carrying her away and focused on the warmth that was spreading through her body like a wild fire.
