The Duchess and The Jedi.

Chapter 3

Obi-Wan walked into the cockpit to see Ahsoka and Anakin talking, "Hello you two." Obi-Wan said. "How are things going?" Ahsoka looked at him then lowered her head. "Master Obi-Wan, how could you lie to master Skywalker? I mean I get that you wanna protect him from what ever power you think you have, but hiding the truth from him was not right." Ahsoka was quite angry, she was angry about of how Obi-Wan had hid the truth from her master. "I mean I get that you were trying to protect him, but don't you think it would have bean safer if he knew your past instead of him trying to figure it out by himself?" Obi-Wan didn't quite know how to answer her, she had a point, but could he trust her enough to tell her the truth as to why he had lied to Anakin. Obi-Wan chose to keep the truth to himself, for now.
Satine walked into the dining hall to find Obi-Wan picking at his food, she walked over and sat beside him, she wondered if he had even realized she was there. A few seconds later he turned his head and looked at her, "You are the most beautiful woman in all the galaxy." he said looking into her dark eyes. "You stole my heart the moment I saw you. You have always had my heart and always will."
Obi-Wan smiled at Satine, he knew what they were doing was for the better, and it was indeed the right thing for them to do. He also knew it was the only way for them to be together. Obi-Wan was to become a Jedi sentry. A Jedi sentry was a strong Jedi, they swear their themselves to the Jedi order and it's protection. Jedi sentries are stationed at every doorway into the temple and always remain in the temple unless told otherwise. Obi-Wan knew he would end up being a sentry that left the temple, he knew master Yoda would send him on missions even if he did become a sentry. Obi-Wan Reached his his arm around Satine and pulled her close to him and kissed her forehead. "I love you so much." He said, then he returned to eating his dinner. Satine leaned in on Obi-Wan's shoulder, snuggling closer to him, wanting to hear his heart beat.
"Master Obi-Wan, can I talk to you for a moment." Ahsoka's voice broke the silence, "Obi-Wan, Anakin has not said a word sense you two spoke, what were you hiding from him?"
"Ahsoka, This is between me and Anakin, not you. I know you mean well, but me and Anakin need to work this out." Obi-Wan said standing, "Now if you'll excuse me, Duchess, Padawan Tano, I have something I must attend to." and with that Obi-Wan stood and walked to the door, he bowed slightly to Satine and walked out.
"What was that about," Ahsoka asked.
"I have no idea, he seems on edge lately, I think he is worried about your master." Satine said smiling, "You know he meant well, he never wanted anything to come between them."
"Well maybe he should have thought of that before he lied to Anakin." Ahsoka said turning away from Satine. "How close are you to him anyways? And why did he trust you to know about his power and not my master?" It was clear that she was upset, she was starting to loose trust in the duchess.
"I know you don't trust me right now Ahsoka, but you need to know that these next few days are very important to Obi-Wan," Satine said her face turning stern, "He needs to focus on his studies and many other things. I know your master is upset that Obi-Wan lied, but Anakin has not bean that honest to Obi-Wan either. So maybe consider them close to even." and with that Satine rose and walked out the door.
What did she mean Anakin has not bean honest with Obi-Wan? Thoughts flew through Ahsoka's head, now she felt like she didn't know Obi-Wan or her master. Was this what the Jedi order was? Lies and deceptions? No, this was not all the Jedi order was, the Jedi order was honest and loyal to the Republic. This Ahsoka knew. But what about these lies, should she turn Obi-Wan over to the council? No, Obi-Wan was a leading member of the Jedi council, they would now believe her. Even if she had proof. Maybe it was time for her to find out what really was going on with both Jedi masters. Ahsoka chose to look into Obi-Wan's case first, mainly because she still had Satine's trust.
Obi-Wan walked down the hallway to his bedroom, he stopped outside the door. How much more of these lies and deceptions must I take before I brake? He asked himself, Will I ever be able to talk to Anakin about my feelings or will he push me away? No I trust him, he will understand.
"Master Obi-Wan." Ahsoka's voice was faint as she walked up behind him, "Master Obi-Wan, I'm....... I'm sorry I attacked you like that, I was really upset about the whole thing with my master. I feel like he is hiding something from me." This was the truth, but she also felt like Obi-Wan was hiding something from her as well, but what was it?
"Ahsoka, what can I do for you?" Obi-Was asked as he turned to look at the young Jedi Padawan. "Is everything ok? I hope I have not ruined the close relationship you have with you master." Some of these words were true, but not all of them were true. Obi-Wan was worried about the relationship between Anakin and his young Padawan Ahsoka, but he knew in time things would resolve themselves.
"No master, I just have not seen him sense he told me." Ahsoka said she lowered her head, "I'm really worried, I think that he knows you were right to hide that from him, but I think he feels betrayed that you told Satine and not him."
"Ahsoka, I told Satine when I was 17, she has known longer than Master Qui-Gon knew." Obi-Wan said, "Satine knows more about me then anyone else in this galaxy." Obi-Wan smiled at Ahsoka, he knew that she meant well, but he could tell that she was probing him for information.
"So, how close are you to the duchess?" Ahsoka asked.
"Closer than most. I have known her sense I was 15," Obi-Wan answered
"That's a long time, you must really care about her." Ahsoka said smiling, she started to understand the connection that Obi-Wan had with Satine.
"I do, sometimes it gets hard to control my feelings when it comes to missions that involve Mandalore or Duchess Satine. I think you understand, I know it is hard for you to keep your head around Lux Bontery."
"But how did you know?" Ahsoka took a few steps back, how had Obi-Wan figured out that she had feelings for him? "Did he say something?"
"Yes and no." Obi-Wan answered "He didn't have to say anything. Both of you spoke, but didn't speak. I do pay attention to a lot of things." Obi-Wan winked at Ahsoka as he opned the door to his room. "I'll see you later Ahsoka." the door hissed shut behind the Jedi.
Repair droids informed Anakin that all necessary repairing had bean complete. As Anakin turned the corner or the Mandaloreian star ship he saw Obi-Wan talking to Satine, outside the door to Satine's bedroom.
"I know Satine, I'm working on it." Obi-Wan said, "I don't know how much longer we can keep Anakin and Ahsoka off out tails, they seem to be on our scent."
"Oh don't worry Obi-Wan, they know nothing. There for they are not going to be a problem." Satne said, "And besides even if they did know something, what gives them the right to stop you from facing the trials. I mean lets be honest, what can Anakin do?"
"Good point." Obi-Wan said, he looked into Satine's eyes seeing nothing but love. "Thank you, you always have a way of putting me on my path again." Obi-Wan gave Satine a short bow.
So, Obi-Wan was going to take the trials, but what one? Anakin thought to himself. What was his former master up to? Anakin turned away from Obi-Wan and Satine and walked back in the direction he had come from, he needed time to think and figure out what he was going to need. This was a lot for him to process. As Anakin was walking towards the observation platform he ran into Ahsoka, she gave him one look and she knew something had happened.
"What's wrong master?" she asked, "What's going on between you and master Obi-Wan? I don't understand why are you so angry at him?"
"Look snips, Obi-Wan is taking the trials, to what I have no idea, but all I know is that he is taking them." Anakin said, "I need to find out what kind of Jedi temples are on Mandalore. Also I need to find out of Yoda knows of his intentions."
"Master, we are not heading towards Mandalore," Ahsoka said, "We are heading to Alaris Prime, I know nothing about the planet."
"Alaris Prime?" Anakin said shocked, he now knew Obi-Wan's intentions, he was going to become a sentry, "This is not good, if Obi-Wan passes the trials this means he will never be able to leave the Jedi Temple unless asked by master Yoda himself."
"Master, what are we going to do?" Ahsoka asked, "Should we report this to the council?"
"Chances are they already know where Obi-Wan is going, real question is why is he doing this now?" Anakin said, "What is his motive?"
"Satine! That's his motive" Ahsoka said. "If he is a sentry, he does not have to stick to the Jedi code, he becomes the Jedi code, and if his heart still belongs to Satine at the end of his trial, she can remain. That's what I was told anywasy."
"So, let me get this right, Obi-Wan wants to take the trials so he can become a sentry because if he passes he can be with Satine?" Anakin asked his Padawan, "How does that work?"
"Well, the sentries are some of the strongest Jedi in the order, because they had a special power but gave it up for the general good of the galaxy, mainly because they believe no one should have that much power. Isn't that what Obi-Wan did? Also last night Obi-Wan told me that he was very close to Satine, and that he has known her for years. It makes sense master."
"Yes your right it does, but how close is he to the duchess?" Anakin asked, "Would he do all of this for her?"
"Master, we both saw Obi-Wan when he fought those pirates, I think that should answer your question." Ahsoka said smiling, "Besides master I saw master Kenobi with Satine this morning. He left her room in only pants and his cloak."
"Wait, did that really happen Snips?" Anakin said looking at his Padawan. "Cause if that's the case, I think I know why he is facing the trials."
The light rods in the rooms and hallways begun to dim, signaling that it was dusk. Obi-Wan walked to his room and opened the door. He suddenly sensed someone, Obi-Wan turned to see if someone was behind him, only to find it was a Mandaloreian guard. "Oh, it's just you." Obi-Wan said. "What are you doing?" The guard looked at Obi-Wan then walked away from the door and headed down the hallway. What was that all about? Obi-Wan thought. Was he stalking me? Or was he watching me? It doesn't matter. And with that Obi-Wan entered his room, the door hissing behind him.
"Finally, I have bean waiting for you all evening Obi." Satine's voice was quiet and she walked out of the shadows. "Did you miss me?"
"Satine? I thought that was you." Obi-Wan said walking over to his lover. He scooped her up in his arms and kissed her. "I did miss you my love. I missed you so much. I hate all this hiding, I want to tell Anakin, but I know that he won't understand. Not yet anyways." Obi-Wan looked into Satine's eyes, he begun to get lost in his love for her.
"Well Obi," Satine said running her hand through his hair, "I know it's hard, but lets not think about Anakin right now, lets think about us, and how much you missed me."
"Right." Obi-Wan said smiling at his lover. "I really did miss you. You always know what to say to me to help me get though this. Thank you." Obi-Wan gently laid Satine down on the bed and crawled in after her. Satine sat up and looked down at the man lying beside her, what would she do without him?
"Obi-Wan, can I ask you to do something for me?" Satine asked, "please?"
"Sure," he answered "Anything for you my love." Satine smiled a shy smile.
"Can you take off your tunic please?" She said looking at him, then she slightly lowered her head so as to not look him in the eye. "I want to sleep touching your skin." Obi-Wan smiled at her and sat up, he slowly begun to remove his tunic and belt. When he came down to his under-tunic he stopped.
"I know how much it upsets you to see me get hurt." he said "I want you to know that I'm always going to be okay." with that he faced Satine and removed his under-tunic as he faced her she could see scars, a deep sadness came over her and her smile faded with the light. She loved Obi-Wan so much, but she knew his life as a Jedi had not bean kind to him. He had bean in many battles and had bean shot many times, his body was covered with scars and some cuts from the fight with the pirates. Across Obi-Wan's chest were some tattoos, not tattoos he got willingly, but slave tattoos. On Obi-Wan's arms he had his name and a number, his slave number. Satine reached out and touched the tattoo on his left forearm, she remembered him telling her how and why he was given that tattoo. On his left arm was Satine's name. Obi-Wan had turned something that scared him into something that identified him.
"Obi, I know it hurts you to see me this sad, but seeing you reminds me of the hardships you have gone through to stay mine, and for that I am thankful" Satne leaned in and kissed him, as she did she removed her outer tunics until she was just in her under tunics, then she gently pulled him down under the blankets with her.
"I have loved you for so long Satine" Obi-Wan said, "I don't know what I would do if I lost you."
"I know," Satine said gently tracing a scar with her fingers "I know how much you love me my dear Obi-Wan, and you know how much I love you, and always will."
The ship landed on the planet of Alaris Prime at dawn, and Obi-Wan and Satine walked down the ramp. Anakin and Ahsoka were already off the ship and looking around. "Good morning Obi-Wan, duchess." Anakin bowed his had lightly to both Satine and Obi-Wan.
"Good morning Anakin, morning Ahsoka." Satine said smiling pleasantly at them. "You two are up early."
"Well yes we are duchess." Anakin said "We wanted to talk to the two of you before you left to face the trials." Satine could not hide the shock on her face, how did he find out?
"Anakin, were you spying on us?" Satine asked looking down as if he were nothing compared to her. "If that is the case I would recommend you and your Padawan learner find another transport back to Courscant. You are no longer welcome aboard my ship." and with that Satine walked passed the two Jedi.
"Anakin spying is beneath the Jedi, I told you I was going to tell you everything in time." Obi-Wan said looking at his old Padawan. "I wish you would have just trusted me." Obi-Wan followed Satine off the ship and found their speeders at the bottom of the loading ramp. They boarded them and speed off into the distance leaving Anakin and Ahsoka to argue if confronting them had bean the best idea.
"Master, there are two more speeders if you want to go after them." Ahsoka said pointing to the speeders at the bottom of the ramp.
The temple loomed ahead as Satine and Obi-Wan speed closer to it. Once at the entrance they would have to go in on foot. Obi-Wan looked at Satine, she focused and determined. "Are you ready for this Obi?" She asked, "I mean mentally." Obi-Wan looked at her and chuckled.
"As if you really had to ask." Obi-Wan said. With that he walked to the temple entrance. Obi-Wan used the force to open the main door. The large stone door begun to slide open revealing a large room, mostly empty except a statue of a Jedi sentry. As Obi-Wan and Satine walked in, the sentry came to life. He stepped off his potum and walked over to Obi-Wan and reached out his hand.
"Your lightsabers Jedi." he said. The sentry's face was covered by a mask and a hood of a light brown color. He carried a double bladed lightsaber and it was attached to his utility belt. The sentry was dressed in a light brown tunic and robe, different then the ones the Jedi usually wore, these were long and touched the floor. He pointed to a doorway then pointed to Satine. "You will wait for him there woman." he said then he walked back to his potum and turned to stone again. Satine waked over to Obi-Wan and kissed him one last time.
"I'll be waiting right here for you my love." she said as she walked to her waiting room.
Obi-Wan stood in the middle of the room and begun meditating. Slowly a chamber in the far side of the room begun to open revealing two lightsabers. Obi-Wan walked over to them and picked them both up. He attached them to his utility belt and walked towards the only other passageway in the temple. The hallway looked dark and soon there was no light. Obi-Wan ignited one of the lightsabers only to find that the blade color was yellow. "Of course." he he said. "what was I expecting." Obi-Wan continued to walk down the hallway until he came to a large open room. What's this? Some sort of training room? Obi-Wan entered, as soon as he did 7 Jedi sentries came to life, they all attacked him at once. Obi-Wan moved in one fluid motion avoiding the burning lightsaber blades. Obi-Wan ignited the second lightsaber and begun to fight the sentries. Obi-Wan called on the force to guide him, and he felt the sentries do the same. Suddenly Obi-Wan begun to draw the force from the sentries. The more they tried to use the force the stronger Obi-Wan became. Obi-Wan disarmed the sentry on his left by cutting his lightsaber in half, Obi-Wan then turned his attention to the 4 in front of him, he noted the 2 sentries that stayed back and out of the fight. Obi-Wan advanced on the 2 sentries to his left pushing them back. One of Obi-Wan's lightsabers was knocked out of his hand, Obi-Wan then took up a different fighting style all together, going on the defense and not the offense. The battle carried on ad soon the sentries begun to tire. Obi-Wan called on the force and brought his fallen lightsaber to his hand. Smiling he begun to attack the weakening sentries. Obi-Wan begun to push the 2 directly in front of him. That was a small mistake. The two sentries watching seemed to see this as well and then begun attacking Obi-Wan as well. Obi-Wan used what force the sentries had used to force push them to the walls, their lightsabers going out. Obi-Wan stood in the middle of the training room, the loan victor. A sentry rose and pointed to an opening door, Obi-Wan deactivated one of his lightsabers, bowed and left.
Back on the outside of them temple Anakin and Ahsoka stood looking at the temple entrance. Anakin walked up to the entrance and looked in. He did not see Obi-Wan or Satine, all he saw was a large room with no other passageways and just a statue in the middle. "Well this was a waist of time." he remarked. "So, we tracked them here, found their speeders. But only ended up fining an empty single room temple? Lets go Snips." Just as Anakin turned to walk away a doorway appeared at the far end of the temple.
"Master look." Ahsoka said pointing "some kind of hidden doorway, maybe Obi-Wan and Satine went in there." Anakin looked back into the temple to see the passageway.
"Alright Snips lets go." he said walking up the steps to the temple doorway. "I hope they are in there and we can stop Obi-Wan before he either fails or passes the trials."
Obi-Wan came to another dead end, "A dead end?" he shouted, as he was about to turn to go back the way he had come, he felt a presence, like someone was in the room with him. He truned quickly to see Anakin walking towards him. "Anakin? What are you doing in here?"
"Well master me and Ahsoka are here to convince you to give up on the trials and come back to the Jedi temple back home." he answered "I know that you care about the duchess, but we need you in the war."
"Anakin," Obi-Wan said lowering his head, "You know this is something I have to do, it is the right thing. If I return to the war without doing this, I may turn to the dark side. What then?" Anakin looked his master in the eye, he knew he was right, but could he just let his master walk away from everything they had worked so hard to get?
"Master, I know that you think returning to the war means you have to give up Satine," Anakin said placing his hand on Obi-Wan's shoulder "But listen to me, I need to tell you something. I have bean married to Padme for the past 3 years, and I have not found it hard to fight in this war." Obi-Wan looked up at Anakin, Anakin could see that this was something that Obi-Wan already knew.
"Anakin, this is different." he said turning away from his friend. "Satine is with child, and the only way to ensure the child's safety is to become a sentry and station myself on Mandalore to make sure the people of Mandalore don't hunt Satine and the child down. As you might know the Jedi and the Mandalorians have not always bean friends. There was a time when we had a war with them, if someone was to find out that Satine was carrying the child of a Jedi, I know that she would be hunted and maybe even killed for her so said "crimes" and if anything happened to her, I would not be able to control what I do. Anakin don't you understand? I have to do this to make sure that they are safe." Obi-Wan looked into Anakin's eyes hoping to see that Anakin was starting to understand.
"I know Obi-Wan, I would never forgive myself if something happened to Padme." he said looking at his master. "But leaving me, and always staying on Mandalore? You said so yourself that the peaceful ways of the locals got to you after a while. So why would you want to go and stay there. Besides Mandalore once raged war against the Jedi." Anakin tried to talk some sense into Obi-Wan, but Obi-Wan disregarded most of what Anakin had to say.
"Anakin, it is because of the war. I know that they will not be safe. What s Maul some how comes back and finds out that Satine survived and that she is having my child, I know he will go after them," Obi-Wan said "He took her from me once, and I'm not going to let that happen again."
"Obi-Wan..... I'm not sure this is the best idea." Anakin said looking at his master, "I know you think it is, but what if your wrong?"
"Anakin, this is the only way." Obi-Wan said looking at Anakin. He was starting to get annoyed by Anakin stalling his trials, "This is the only way I can openly be with Satine and remain a Jedi. We have looked at all the other options, Qui-Gon looked at all the other options for him and Tahl, Qui-Gon became a sentry, he was a warrior so Yoda continued to send him on missions, then he took me as his Padawan, but Qui-Gon never dropped the title of sentry."
"Wait, who is Tahl?" Anakin said suddenly realizing that he was not alone. "Was she Qui-Gon's lover? I didn't know he had one."
"Yes, it appears that all three of us have fallen for a woman." Obi-Wan said, "I'm not sure if we should take this as a complement or a sign of the dark side."
"Obi-Wan, it just means that who ever trained Qui-Gon trained him to be single minded and to follow his heart and not always his head." Anakin said smiling at Obi-Wan. "Well master, it looks like everyone is in the same boat here. Who was Qui-Gon's master anyways?"
"Anakin," Obi-Wan said looking Anakin in the eye, "I will tell you everything you would like to know after the trials. But now I have to go. I have to find a way out of here." those being the last words of the Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi, Obi-Wan turned his attention back to the room, at the far end of the room there was a button of some kind. Obi-Wan went over and pushed it. The ground beneath him started to rise creating a small platform. He rose into a large chamber. At first it looked empty, then he started to see Jedi sentries standing their lightsabers drawn but not activated. Then at one end of the chamber Obi-Wan saw master Yoda. The platform he was standing on soon became flush with the floor of the circular chamber.
"Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi master and member of the Jedi council." one of the sentries said as Obi-Wan bowed. "You have come here today to protect your family. She is with child is she not?"
"Yes she is." Obi-Wan said "Please, I have to try to protect them."
"Understand I do, your caring for the duchess." Yoda said "Wrong it is the attachment you have formed. Understand I do, and try I will."
"Thank you masters." Obi-Wan said bowing "What more must I do masters?"
"Kenobi, passed the trials you have," Yoda said bowing his head to Obi-Wan "A sentry you are, but allow you to remain on Mandalore I will not."
"What? I don't understand. I thought you said you understood." Obi-Wan was outraged "How can you say that? I will remain with Satine with out with out the approval of this council if I must. I will remain by her side no matter what any council or any Jedi has to say about it."
"Master Kenobi, what Master yoda is really saying, is that he does not think the child of Kenobi will be safe on Mandalore." one of the sentries said. "We believe that Satine and the child would be safer at the Jedi temple. Where you would be stationed."
"With all due respect Sr. Satine wanted to stay on Mandalore, it is her home planet and she is the duchess, her people need her." Obi-Wan said, "She would never agree to these terms."
"Perhaps, but before making this choice alone, Kenobi, we will talk to Satne, hear her side of the story." The sentry said. "Please rise Satine Kryze." Satine's platform begun to rise into the chamber beside Obi-Wan.
"Masters and sentries, As master Kenobi has already said I wish to return with Obi-Wan to Mandalore." Satine said making a small bow. "It is my home and my people need me. Mandalore will return to being a violent planet without me to guide my people."
"Satine is right," Obi-Wan said "Her people look to her to keep the war away from them. She is their beacon of hope."
"Agree with Satine I do," Master Yoda said, "Need her, her people do. Agree with you this council does, return to Mandalore the two of you will. Continue fighting in the war Kenobi will. Need him we do. A darker future I sense. Need you I will Obi-Wan."
"Master Yoda, I will stay with Satine, or she will stay with me." Obi-Wan objected "I wish her to always be with me."
"Satine Kryze, pick up Kenobi's lightsaber." a sentry said throwing one of Obi-Wan's colored lightsabers to Satine. "fight Kenobi, show us that you are worthy of the Jedi order."
"I will not fight her." Obi-Wan said.
"Fine, I'll fight her. If you engage in this fight Kenobi, you will be stripped of all your titles in and outside the Jedi Order. Do you understand?" Obi-Wan nodded his head.
Satine held Obi-Wan's lightsaber, she allowed herself to feel everything around her, he felt the walls and ground underneath her. Then she felt the sentry who was going to fight her. She closed her eyes and stood for a moment then activated the lightsaber. She allowed the force to flow through her, remembering what Obi-Wan had told her. Move like the water and be as strong as a Bantha. Satine moved around the sentry and took the first strike. She moved quickly and almost silently. She parried the attacks the sentry threw and when she had a chance she risked a quick kick and got the sentry in the knee.
"Enough." Yoda said. "Proven yourself you have Satine. Remain by Obi-Wan's side you can. But send Obi-Wan on missions we will."
"The choice to be by his side will be yours." the sentry said, "You are skilled duchess, and are more than worthy of Kenobi's love. The choice to accompany him on missions is yours." Satine deactivated Obi-Wan's lightsaber and handed it to the sentry. "Keep it, where your going you might need it." Satine looked at Obi-Wan knowing that sooner or later the Jedi were to find out that Obi-Wan had already given her one of his lightsabers.
"Masters, I have to tell you this," Satine said, "years ago, when Obi-Wan pledged himself to me and I did to him, he gave me one of his lightsabers as a symbol of his ever lasting love." as she said that, she pulled out Obi-Wan's old lightsaber, it was much like the one he carried now, but in some ways it was different.
"I gave it to her so she would always know my life and heart belonged to her." Obi-Wan said, "She may keep the lightsaber as well as that one. After all if she is going to come with me on missions I want her well protected." Satine hooked the lightsaber to her belt and turned to Obi-Wan. She knew that this was him pledging to keep her safe no matter where the Jedi council sent them.
"The Jedi order will not see Satine as a Jedi, but we will see her as a friend to the Jedi." the sentry said, "If anyone asks you, you are a member of the Jedi order. But in our eyes you are but a friend. Kenobi your lightsaber." A small column rose from the floor, on the table lay a double bladed lightsaber and two lightsaber bodies they looked just like the ones he already had. On the side of the double bladed weapon his name was engraved. Obi-Wan picked up the weapon with his name on it and attached it to his utility belt. He then looked at the lightsaber bodies.
"Where are the crystals?" Obi-Wan asked.
"The crystals are in the lightsabers you carry now." the sentry said pointing to the other two lightsabers attached to Obi-Wan's belt. "Those, master Kenobi, are rentals." Obi-Wan took the lightsabers off his belt and opened the lightsabers with the force and took the two crystals out. He then close the two rental lightsabers and opened his new lightsabers. The crystals fit perfectly into the new lightsaber bodies. As soon as the lightsabers were completely closed Obi-Wan activated then lightsabers and slashed at the air. The yellow glow of the lightsabers shown brightly, and Obi-Wan deactivated them.
"The force has chosen you to be a protector." the sentry said, "the yellow blade will stay true as long as you and your heart remain true to your purpose."
"Thank you masters." Obi-Wan said "I will remain true to my purpose, always." The light from the outside begun to seep in from the cracks in the walls. Small holes begun to form and soon the temple had windows and doors. Obi-Wan saw Anakin standing in the main room of the temple. Obi-Wan looked down to see his robes had changed as well. He no longer wore the insignia of the Republic, but he wore tan robes. The same robes that every other sentry wore. His arms were wrapped and his tunic was long and went close to the ground. Obi-Wan turned to face Anakin.
"Master Obi-Wan, you look good...." Anakin said smiling "I mean it's different, but you do look good."
"Thank you Anakin." Obi-Wan said "Well I passed. So, what next? Duchess do you have anywhere you would like to go?" Satine giggled, she liked Obi-Wan's new formal way of addressing her.
"No Obi-Wan, I just want to return to Mandalore." Satine said facing him. "I want to go home Obi."
"As you wish." Obi-Wan said as he escorted Satine out of the temple leaving Anakin speechless in the middle of the empty Jedi temple.
"Master Obi-Wan, I can't find Ahsoka, we got separated inside the temple." Anakin called after his master. "Please help me find her."
"One moment my dear." Obi-Wan said to Satine as he walked back into the temple. Obi-Wan called on the force and a chamber opened at the far end of the room. Ahsoka walked out confused. "There you are young Ahsoka. Did you get a little bit lost?"
"Master Obi-Wan?" Ahsoka asked shocked "Is that you master Obi-Wan? I take it you passed the trials then."
"I did thank you for asking." he answered. "Now if you will come with me, Satine and I wish to return home."
"Home?" Ahsoka asked. "And where might that be?"
"Mandalore of course." Obi-Wan responded. "We are going home to Mandalore."
