The Duchess and The Jedi.

Chapter 5

           The sun rose quickly onboard the ship, and soon it was shining in Obi-Wan's face. He rolled over and groaned. He knew it was past time for him to get up, that's when he remembered where he was. Crap, he thought to himself, he was under arrest. Obi-Wan gently swung his legs over the side of the sleep couch and stood. He did some quick stretched, he knew he would need to limber if Anakin was going to take him on a ride.
"Everything ok?" Satine asked looking up at him from the bed. "Your up early. You ok dear?"
"Oh yes just fine." Obi-Wan answered finishing his stretching. "I just needed to get up and move. Sorry I woke you." Obi-Wan said kissing Satine on the forehead.
"Your fine, I'm just worried about you my dear." Satine said sitting up in the bed. "Are you sure your ok?"
"Yes I'm fine. I assure you, I'm just fine Satine." Obi-Wan said stopping before he opened the door. "What do you think? Open or locked?"
"Well if it's Anakin, locked." Satine said reluctantly getting out of bed. "He really wants you contained."
"I agree." Obi-Wan said looking down, "I really did hurt him when I left the war."
"It's not fully your fault Obi-Wan, Anakin could be a little more open to your choice." Satine said taking Obi-Wan's hand. "Well are you going to open it or not?" To both Obi-Wan and Satine's surprise the door hissed open. Obi-Wan looked down the corridor to see if t was clear. He saw no one in one direction then he looked the other way and saw Bo locked up in an animal cell. He walked down the hallway and unlocked the cage.
"Bo, you ok?" He asked crouching near her. "Bo, wake up you!" Obi-Wan shook Bo awake.
"What's going on?" Bo said rolling over. She moved back quickly when she saw Obi-Wan, "what are you doing in here?" She said startled to see him.
"Bo, your in a cage," Satine said smiling, "you must have slept well if you don't remember that."
"Well, I guess I did." She answered smiling at her sister. "Well, what's the story today?"
"Well, I'm not sure yet. I have not seen Anakin yet." Obi-Wan said.
"When I see him I will be able to understand his intentions better. At this point I am as clueless and you are." Obi-Wan quickly hurried down the corridor, Satine and Bo hot in his heals. Obi-Wan came to a sudden halt and put his hand up to stop Satine from passing him.
"What is it Obi?" She asked looking at him, somewhat searching his face for an answer.
"We seem to be dead in space." He answered looking out the small window in front of them. "I believe Anakin is no longer onboard this ship."
"Sis, I don't know if that's a good thing or not." Bo asked nudging her sister.
"Oh, I'm afraid it's a very bad thing Bo." Obi-Wan said turning to face the girls. His face was white and grim, almost like he had seen a force ghost. "I believe Anakin wants to see how far I will go to save the two of you."
"How can he be so cruel!" Satine said outraged. "I thought Jedi were supposed to be the good guys, yet here I am again trapped with Obi-Wan and some psychopath out to kill us both!"
"Funny how we always end up like this." He remarked walking closer to the window. "Funny being dead in space we seem to still be moving, but not forward but in circles."
"Is that good or bad?" Bo asked again. Obi-Wan turned and smiled at her.
"Well, my dear Bo, that depends a lot on who your stuck on that ship with." Obi-Wan answered. "And today, it's a very good thing."
"Obi-Wan, how is that a good thing?" Satine asked looking at Obi-Wan I shock. "How can it be a good thing we are spinning dead in space? Please do explain." It was very obvious that Satine had had it with this whole ordeal.
"Well Satine, thank you for asking, I can use the power the ship creates by spinning to jump start the engines and maybe get this thing started again." He answered. "Of course it all depends on how we ended up dead in space."
"Yes I'm sure it's an-" Satine started but spotted something. "Obi-Wan, look!" Satine was pointing at the captain's personal cabin. The door was open and there were blast holes all around the door. It looked like someone took the ship by force.
"How could I have slept through that?" Obi-Wan asked shocked. "Anakin must have drugged our food so we would not try to run away." He said slowly moving towards the slightly open door.
"Yes it would explain why Bo did not wake up quickly." Satine said reaching out to take Obi-Wan's outstretched hand.
"It looks like a battle field in here." Bo said looking through the door.
"Has anyone spotted Anakin?" Obi-Wan asked walking into the room.
"No but I'll let you know if I do." Satine said walking in after him still holding his hand. As they reached the bed Obi-Wan heard a slight groan.
"Anakin?" He said into dead silence. "Anakin can you hear me?"
"Obi-Wan? Is that you master?" Anakin's weak voice came to Obi-Wan from the closet. "Boy am I glad to hear your overly high pitch voice." Obi-Wan opened the closet door to find Anakin tied up and in electro handcuffs.
"If I help you, you drop the charges against the duchess?" Obi-Wan said looking Anakin in the eye, "if you decline, I'll get this ship started and leave you tied up in here."
"Obi-Wan, there never were any charges against the duchess. I made it all up because I was angry at you for leaving the war." Anakin said lowering his head. "I was a jerk and I see that now. I hope you can forgive me, master."
"Well this has bean a nice family reunion," Bo said sarcastically "but we really need to be looking for a way to turn this bucket of bolts back on."
"Right." Obi-Wan said cutting Anakin loose. "Is there any way you can get this thing started?"
"Are we moving forward or standing still?" Anakin asked.
"We are spinning." Satine answered moving closer to Obi-Wan. "General Skywalker I want you to know that you are no longer welcome on Mandalore. I know Obi-Wan is your former master but he will soon become the Prime Minister of Mandalore, I can not over look you kidnapping us. I simply can not."
"I understand duchess." Anakin said looking away from her. "What I did was wrong, but what he did was worse. It's unfair! How come he gets to have you, be and Jedi and not have to fight in this war? He gets everything and we are stuck with, well I'm stuck with nothing."
"I know it is hard for you seeing Obi-Wan with everything a Jedi can never have, but you must understand that he never did any of this to hurt you." Satine said. "I know your angry at both him and I, but sometimes you have to let go of your anger and begun to understand how some things play out for the better."
"Wow Obi-Wan," Anakin said shocked, "did you teach her that or did she come that way?"
"What do you mean?" Obi-Wan asked.
"Satine kinda sounds like a Jedi.........?" Anakin said walking beside his master, "don't suppose you had anything to do with that?"
"No," he answered. "I do not. She has always bean one step ahead of me that way."
Obi-Wan and Anakin reached the cockpit and Anakin took the pilots seat. He look around and attempted to start the engines. The ship gave a shudder and nothing more.
"I'll go look in the engine room," Obi-Wan offered.
"I've got it master. You fly I'll do the fixing." Anakin said getting up. As he walked out of the cockpit Satine walked in.
"What's the status on the Ship Obi-Wan?" She asked leaning over his seat and ruffling his hair. "Are we going to die this time?"
"Funny Satine!" Obi-Wan said gripping the steering handles tightly. "Fire it up Anakin!" He said into his com.
"Firing it up master." Anakin's voice came through the com. The engines roared to life and Obi-Wan quickly maneuvered the ship into the upright position with as little jerking as possible. Yet he still sent Satine flying into his arms.
"Oh, you did that on purpose!" Satine said giving Obi-Wan a slight stink eye.
"And if I did?" Obi-Wan said smiling at her. "Come here." He said pulling her closer and kissing her passionately. Just as Satine pulled away Anakin walked back into the cockpit.
"Master I- oh sorry. I'll go." He stammered.
"No it's quite alright master Skywalker." Satine said looking up at Anakin. "I was just heading out. He's all yours." Satine stood and walked towards the door of the cockpit and accessed the door and It hissed closed behind her.
"Well, this is probably going to come out wrong, but I just never pictured you kissing anyone."
Anakin said chuckling. He took a seat in the copilot' seat. "I mean, it's just weird!"
"Yes well that's a nice thought Anakin." Obi-Wan said looking down at the controls. "Anything else you tried to picture me doing?"
"Now that you ask master-" Anakin started but was cut off my Obi-Wan.
"Anakin! Don't even go there!" He said standing turning a bright red. "Why would you even imply that?"
"Oh so you haven't?" Anakin asked chuckling.
"I have a son." Obi-Wan answered. Sitting back down.
"Thanks master, I didn't need that picture in my mind." Anakin said making a puking face. "That's a wonderful thought."
"Really Anakin?" Obi-Wan said "that's mature." Obi-Wan reached over to the nava computer. And punched in Couriscant's coordinates. He then leaned back in his seat and hit the button that took them into hyperspace. He put his feet on the console and watched and the stars begun streaked past until they were just a blur of light.
"We don't have to go to Couriscant master." Anakin said looking down.
"I know Anakin," Obi-Wan answered. "I just thought Satine and I would pay a visit to the Jedi temple saying I have not bean back there in over two years."
"Oh, ok that's great master." Anakin said smiling.
"I just wonder who attacked us and why?" Obi-Wan said stroking his beard. "What did they want?"
"I'm not sure master." Anakin said looking down at his feet, "maybe it was something-"
"The Holocron!" Obi-Wan shouted jumping to his feet. "When you arrested us, I grabbed a Holocron from my closet. I put it in the main room." As Obi-Wan said this he was walking to the main room of the ship.
"Why would you have a Holocron?" Anakin asked Obi-Wan. His master hardly ever used them.
"Because master Yoda asked me to study from it." He answered looking behind a wall for the Holocron. "It's gone!" He said looking at Anakin.
"So your saying who ever attacked us knew it was here?" Anakin asked Obi-Wan.
"Yes. I think they knew exactly what they were looking for." He answered. "I believe that they through you had it, that's why they attacked you and not us. After all the three of us were dressed as Mandalorians not Jedi. But who ever they were got what they were coming for."
"What kind of Holocorn was it master?" Anakin asked.
"It was a training Holocron. It trained people in the fighting style of Soresu." Obi-Wan answered a grim look coming over his face. "Who ever this was is force sensitive, and is now in possession of a very powerful Holocron. If who ever this is learns to fight Soresu style they could become a very powerful enemy."
"I agree." Anakin said walking with Obi-Wan to the door. "We have to track them down! I'll go re reroute the ship. I think it's time we visit our friend Hondo on Flouroum."
"I agree." Obi-Wan said. "But I don't know about taking Satine and Bo with us."
"Why not Obi-Wan?" Satine said walking into the room. "Is it because I'm your wife Obi?" Satine said batting her eyes.
"No it's because I don't want you getting hurt." He answered.
"I can take care of my self my dear." Satine said walking up to him. "You don't have to worry so much. Ok?"
"It's my job to worry about you Satine." Obi-Wan said chuckling. "But I do my best not to become over protective."
Satine smiled at him and walked to the door. "So where are we headed?"
"Flouroum." Anakin said with a smile as he walked back into the room. "Problem duchess?" The duchess's face went from a smile to a face of pure fear.
"I have a very bad feeling about this." She said turning to her husband.
