Half Wolf

Chapter 3

Duuudes. I'm so sorry, it's been ages since I've published. I'm a terrible human. But here's the next chapter. (Sorry it's so short)

I sit on my bed across from my mate, staring into her wondrous eyes. They're a deep shade of brown, mixed with a little green.

I suddenly snap back into reality by the sound of my mates voice.

"Thea?" She asks.

"What? Yeah?" I ask, in a dazed voice.

"Are you done staring?" She asks smirking a little. I feel my cheeks heating up, they'd probably be a bright shade of red.

"I was asking you a question," She says.

"Yes, sorry. What was the question?" I ask, slightly embarrassed.

" I was wondering if it would be okay to ask about, well you know..." She says motioning to my ears.

"I was born this way, and that's all I really know about it," I say.

"Oh. So no tragic back story?" She jokes.

"No, not really. Fortunately," I smile. "What about you?"

"Well growing up as the Alpha's daughter was kind of tough, you know, so many expectations" My mouth forms and 'O' shape. No wonder the last name Williams was familiar. I didn't even wonder how she knew about me. It does make sense though.

"What?" She asked with clear confusion on her face.

"Sorry, I just didn't realize you were the Alpha's daughter," I say, into which she laughs, which turns out to be the most beautiful sound in the world, which sends shivers down my spine.

"You didn't put two and two together?" To which I shake my head in shame.

"Well at least I don't have it as hard as my brother. I would feel sorry for him, if he weren't such an annoyance," Jane laughs.

"You two don't get along?" I ask.

"Yes and no I guess. At the end of the day I guess he is my brother" she says.

Sensing the slight awkwardness I hurry to change the topic. "So what do you do for fun around here?"

"Well training takes up most of our lives, as its quite important to be a strong pack, which I guess you wouldn't know too much about. You know not being in a pack or anything. That must be hard, because you have no one to support you when you fall. In a pack everyone looks out for one another, you know? Sorry I'm slightly rambling, but I'm so nervous. I didn't realize that I would meet my mate so soon. But now here you are, and you're so beautiful. And I'm so lucky and I don't think I could have wished for a better mate, and it's so amazing. And I'm going to stop myself now before I say anything too embarrassing!" Jane says in one breath. I look at her in disbelief. Whenever I thought of my mate, I always thought that they would hate me for being who I am.

"Oh no! I'm sorry did I say something wrong? I always say the wrong thing." I cut her off with the sound of my slight giggle of confusion.

"How on Earth would you say something wrong?" I ask.

"Okay, thank goodness," She says as she says smiling. But then an unknown emotion flashes across her face.

"Oh no!" She distresses. I suddenly worry what is causing my mates worry, and feel myself wanting to kill (or severely harm) whatever is upsetting her.

"Whats wrong? What's wrong?"

"I don't know how I'm going to explain this to my father. I wasn't supposed to know about you, or let alone visit you. How will I explain you are my mate to him? I didn't really mean to learn about you, I just overheard them talking about you and I figured you'd be lonely and I don't think anyone should be lonely-" I quickly cut her off.

"Woah..w woah calm down. It's okay, we can figure out together. And I don't think he can get too mad at you, you had good intentions, and I am very thankful for that," I say, as I physically see her calm down. 

"But how is he going to understanding. He isn't always an understanding person, especially when it comes to me or my brother. He tends to be quite overprotective of his family." She says

"Its okay, we can figure it out together. What else are mates for?" I ask.

"Okay fair point. But do you promise?" She asks.

"Of course I promise," I tell her as we start forming an idea how to tell her father and my new alpha.
