Kanaya sat next to Karkat on the couch. A book sat in her hands while she sipped her tea. Going in for another sip she stopped abruptly, the side of the cup touching her bottom lip that hung only slightly open, her fangs resting there on the soft skin of her lip as she fell deep in thought. The steam emenating off the hot liquid warmed her slightly jade tinted nose while she stared wide eyed in front of her. Karkat acknowledged this when he hadn't heard the sound of her cup hit the coffee table. He looked out of the corner of his eyes out of concern. Her eyes seemed to hold fear and sorrow in them as they began to look glassy. His face held a blank expression as he poked her shoulder gaining not even the slightest response, the only sound being her soft breathing. "K-KANAYA?" His voice rasped and full of worry. Placing a hand on her shoulder now he lightly shook her yet the same still look stuck to her face like glue. The grip on her cup loosened as she floated off into the abyss of her mind, the hot tea leaning towards the side and about to spill. "KANAYA!" She wa suddenly pulled back into reality accidentally dropping her cup. Karkat, who'd liked his carpet the way it was, held his hand underneath it as it fell coating his hands in what felt like magma. His hands shook as he held his mouth shut to keep the pained screams from escaping his throat. "Oh My! Karkat Dear, Come Here!" She dragged him into the culinary facility turning on the faucet letting the soothing cool water run onto his searing flesh that had turned a tint of red. "Sit Right Here, Okay?" "O-OKAY..." He whimpered, his voice getting as quiet as he would allow it. Coming back with cold rags, she wrapped them around his hands to cool down the awful burning sensation that engulfed his hands. Guiding him into one of the kitchen chairs, she sat him down and left to clean up the bit of tea that spilt on the carpet.
When she was done she washed her hands turning the faucet off as soon as she was done. She looked up at Karkat, a sympathetic look written all over her face. "Is There Anything I Can Get You, Dear?" "NO THANKS, BUT YOU CAN ANSWER A QUESTION FOR ME." Kanaya cocked and eyebrow straightening her shoulders as she ceases leaning over the sink. "Yes?" "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING ABOUT?" He spoke quickly, almost talking over her. She swallowed the embarrassment of her recent actions along with her nervousness. "Just Like The Humans, We Have Evolved Over Time, Some Of Us Strength, Some Height, Life Span, And Some Extinction. Like The Lime Bloods. I-I Have Been Doing Research On Baring Trolls For A Long Period Of Time And Ever Since The Reproduction Use Of The Mother Grub, Baring Trolls Aren't Very Common...At All. Because Of This, The Trolls That Were Once Baring Trolls Or Are Related To Baring Trolls, Have Lost The Ability And Strength To Bare Grubs Over Time, Infact, From All My Research, Eridan Will Need A Lot Of Help Delivering." Karkat couldn't discribe how his fear shook him. "IF HE CANT BIRTH THE GRUBS THEN HIW IS HE A BARING TROLL?" "Karkat," She spoke firmly. "Just Because He Can Carry The Grubs Doesn't Mean His Body Is Fully Equiped With The Strength It Needs To Bring Them Into This World, You And I Can Both See That Please Don't Play Dumb, Things Can Go Wrong And-" Kanaya stopped herself closing her eyes and taking a deep breath, she slowly let it out and turned to face him. "We Must Hope For The Best, No Matter What This Kind Of Talk Is Not Allowed To Be Heard By Either Sollux Nor Eridan, Any Stress On Him And It Can Cause Complications." Karkat nodded. "I Take It You Understand Then?" "YES."
"WWHEN WWILL THIS END?!" Eridan groaned head hanging over the toilet bowl. Sollux kneeling down next to him rubbed his back. He shuddered, keeping food down was his main priority now seeing as it had become a hard task. "You done?" Sollux asked concerned for his mate. "Yeah...I think so." Sollux helped him from the floor, flushing the toilet. Helping him back to their room and into bed he covered his lower half with the blankets and lied next to him. Eridan grabbed a book from the nightstand next to the bed opening it where he'd left off, his eyes skimming across the page trying to remember where he was previously. Thinking he wouldn't notice, Sollux gently placed a hand on his stomache feeling the egg bumps of his precious little ones. A smile crept onto his lips slightly showing his dual fangs purtruding from his mouth. "Sol, this is the fifth time today and as I'vve told you before, our grubs are fine." Eridan said matter of factly. "II know, II ju2t can't waiit to 2ee them." Sollux smiled wider at the thought of meeting their grubs. "Me too." Eridan smiled softly placing a hand over Sollux's.
(Sollux is gonna be a good daddy :3)
