Captured

Chapter 3

 Aiden's P.O.V

The last time I saw Sophia's face was when ISIS attacked my camp, the men that survived and I have been on the move with all our gear, we lost some great men, some who became my friends here.

" ARE YOU WITH ME SOLDIER?!" My captain yells at me as I sit on the ground by a nearby vehicle.

"Yes sir!" I say taking my position behind the car.

We need to get to the other army base which is pretty far from where we are right now, the people here aren't so welcoming. They keep shooting at us. I hear someone sit next to me, "Aiden?"

As I turn, I see Ben, "Hey Ben, how you holding up?"

"Not so well man, I keep hallucinating things."

Just as he says that I start to here bullets coming our way, fastening my helmet I stand up against the vehicle and take aim from the side of it. Looking through my sniper scope I see the person shooting and let a bullet fly, the bullet hits him and he's down. My commander motions for us to move. Ben is sitting on the ground rocking back and forth.

"BEN DAMN IT GET UP!" I yell.

He looks up and keeps rocking, "I better not regret this." I say, I give him my hand and help him up, he follows.

"My best friend got killed right in front of me," He says.

"That explains the way your acting, I'm sorry man." I reply patting his back.

He looks like he's tearing up and we walk in silence with the rest of our squad.

"GRENADE!!" Our commander shouts we all jump out of the way as it goes off.

Me and Ben land in the same area I feel a big piece of shrapnel stuck near my abdomen and my ears are ringing. As I get up I see someone shoot at Ben and I, Ben gets hit in the arm and dodges out of the way. We get to a nearby building and then I look down and see blood coming from where I got hit with the shrapnel. The medic tends to me first, he pulls the shrapnel out and I groan, it was a big piece. Then he numbs the area and stitches it up which made me wince.

He then went and did the same for Ben with his arm; I heard his groan in pain as the medic pulled the bullet out. Feeling nauseated I bend over and puke. I wipe my mouth with my sleeve and walk over to my other troops, I don't see our commander in sight. I walk up to a big guy with a machine gun and ask ,
"where is the captain?"

"He got shot back there, but it's too dangerous to go back."
" LIKE HELL IT IS!" I shout and grab my sniper angrily I walk away, I hear footsteps behind me and look to see the squad following me back.

" We got your back," A soldier named Brian says.

I smile and head back to where we were attacked to see the commander on the ground, "Cover me!" I shout running to the commander I put him over my back and run with him I feel a sharp pain hit the stitches and I notice I was shot, and then I feel another one. Still running we all finally make it back and I put the captain down.

The medic runs to him and starts working on him right away, "He needs a hospital Aiden, and so do you," he says looking at my bleeding wounds he applies pressure to try to get the bleeding to stop.

I take Sophia's picture out and say to her, "I'm making it back to you, I promise. I Love you."

" Call for an extract, it's an emergency!" The medic shouts.

I start to feel light headed and lay back against the wall, holding Sophia and I's picture in my hand I pass out.
