It was the night of the sock hop and Mary was excited as anyone could be. John would be picking her up  any minute now and then they would head over to school. She was nervous for what he would think of her dress and how everybody else would take her, but that would not ruin her night.

"Mary, John is here." Her mother called down.

"Coming." She rushed down to find John waiting by the door way. Her heart skipped a beat when she saw him. He was wearing a nice black suit with a blue tie. Her heart kept skipping beats the closer she come to him.

"You look pretty." He said when she was standing in front of him.

" You look really nice." she replied.

" Alright you two. Have fun and be home by 11 tonight." Her mother said as they were walking to John's car.

It was already full by the time they arrived at the sock hop. Most of the men were wearing suits with either a tie or a bow tie. The girls were wearing different color dresses. When they got to the gym, people were already dancing to Rock Around the Clock.

" I love this song." Mary exclaimed." Do you want to dance?"

"Sure."

They talked and danced for a while. It was already 10 by the time Mary looked at the clock. She then realized how tired she was and walked to where John was getting them punch and talking to some of his football friends.

"Here is your drink." John said when he saw her coming.

"Thank you." She drank some, then put it down where John had put his. " Excuse me, I need to go to the lady's room. I'll be right back."

She walked past couples, who were slow dancing to a song Mary didn't know. On her way she saw Shelly, who was slow dancing with someone she had seen in drama club when she had joined for a bit. She waved to her who waved back. Shelly started pointing at who she was dancing with and started mouthing something that Mary could not understand so she just nodded and waved again. She said hi to girls she didn't even know while walking and one girl who looked like a cheerleader asked her where she got her dress.

When she entered the Lady's room, it was full of girls redoing their makeup. She went back out and went to the other bathroom, where most people don't go. She entered and wasn't surprised to find it empty. She went up to the mirror and looked at her appearance. The little makeup she had on looked alright and her hair was still nicely up. She was going to use the bathroom when the light suddenly turned off. She looked behind her to see a figure by the light.

"Hello?" She called out. " Who's there?"

There was no answer from the figure. Mary asked again but still no answer. She started advancing towards the figure to try and get out but was pushed back by the figure.

"What do you want?" she asked.

" Revenge," it replied in a voice that sounded familiar to Mary.

"For what?" she replied.

" For something that you took from me," the figure said, the voice getting angrier. " Someone that you knew who I liked  but you took him from me!!"

The figure then came closer and pushed her again. Mary fell on the floor and saw the figure going back to the light. The lights came on and she saw who her attacker was.

" Sarah!" Mary exclaimed.

"You took John from me and now I will get my revenge. He was mine!" Sarah started yelling then kicked Mary in the stomach, who grunted in response. " You knew that I liked him yet you still asked him."

" You can't blame me." Mary said, still on the floor. " You were always mean to me so I stood up for myself."

With those words, Sarah picked Mary up by her hair so they were face to face.

" I don't care!" she screamed the threw Mary into the sink. Her face hit the mirror and there was the sound of glass breaking. Mary screamed then fell silent as her body slid down the sink and onto the floor. She was still breathing but it was heavy and fast. There was glass in her face, one piece was in her neck and pieces were in her hair.

"Oh my god" Sarah exclaimed. She meant to scare her but not kill her. Then she started to grin.
" You deserve this, Bloody Mary," Sarah said before turning the lights off and leaving.

Mary had been laying there for two minutes trying to yell, but the glass in her throat prevented her from saying anything. Her breathing became shallower and the last thing she saw was the lights turning back on and a girl screaming before she closed her eyes and the last of her breath left her.
