Time seemed to be at a stand still as the moment arrived to become a whole person with the one I love and will marry. Kelly stood at my side with her daughter beside hers, my mother stands behind me fixing my veil, and my cousin grips my open hand in hers as she holds back tears with a happy smile. I couldn't have asked for better company on this stressful yet enjoyable day.

"Here comes the bride. All dressed in white," I hear Matthew hush to himself as he enters my dressing room with my brother following closely behind him. Letting go of the hands in mine, I rush over to give Matt a hug and thank him for everything he has done. "It's no problem, dear. Anything for a friend. Now, let's get you out there to Dom. He's very eager to see you."

Allowing my party to leave the room first, I stand with Kelly and my brother in the threshold of the dressing room. The blonde haired girl looks over me one last time before leaning in to give me a hug and whisper something in my ear. I don't answer her as I knew it would upset the both of us. She lets go and exits the room, seeming to be a little put off by my silence.

Taking my brothers hand in mine, I get ready to walk down the aisle to my husband-to-be. With time feeling irregular, it only seems fit that everything goes slowly. The steps toward my fiancé, the vows, the 'I do's', and the kiss. All extremely slow and timed, but perfectly in sync to my heart and mind working together to comprehend what is happening.

I work around the idea that I married the man that I'm going to spend the rest of my waking hours loving and taking care of. He also just vowed to me that he'll love me through my hard ships and the successful ones. We both agreed to be by each others sides whenever we needed one another. And it felt great. Knowing that I wasn't going to be alone, that I had some to love and hold the rest of my life.

"Grace, are you awake?" My name is spoken in a question and I force myself to look at the man who grabbed my attention away from the trance that captured me. Matthew grins at me widely as I lean away from his hunched posture over my seat and the charming glint in his eyes. "Good, come on, the blokes wanna dance with you. And you can't say no!"

I get out my chair and follow Matt to the open area where Dom is already, talking with Chris and Kelly who are straggling with their three kids. Smiling to my friends, I notice Kelly having a teetering smile on her lips that falls as soon as I look away. I must has really done her wrong by not answering her pressing question.

"Hold on, I need to go out for a bit. Be right back. Kel, can you come with?" She forces herself from her husbands side and lags behind me as I make my way to an open area where I can catch my breath. I scan her face for any sign of displeasure or regret but all I see is a blank stare and half open eyes. "Do you want an answer that bad that you won't even talk to me? Why does it matter anyways? You've never wondered this before I was willing to marry."

"Because I care, Grace. I always have. I just never asked you before because it always made you upset," Kelly explained as she breathed in deeply and let it out, holding onto the air for a few seconds. "I want to make sure your safe. I want you to be okay with this. All of it." She exaggerates the 'all' and stops her flow of words before she has to say what we both are thinking but not wanting to speak.

"I am," I rush out as I mess with the hem of my short dress and look away from Kelly's eyes. Catching a glimpse of Dominic on the far side of the room, I see a smile smeared across his face and a laugh that I can't hear erupting out of his mouth. I wanted this, all of it and everything more that could be offered. "You know I would tell you if it... got bad. I trust you, Kelly."

My voice becomes low and my eyes are still cast down as Kelly steps forward and embraces me in a tight hug. She promises to help me and be beside me now matter what I choose, making a smile grow on my lips. I could feel the marks and bruises on my skin disappearing beneath the surface, never to return again but only for a short while.
