Sam glared at me from the driver's seat and I raised my eyebrow.
"What?" I questioned while rolling down the window. I felt the breeze on my face.
"Nothing, only that is has been an entire week without so much of a call," He gave me his best scowling face. I just laughed and shrugged.
"You could have called me too; you know?" I replied and he just shook his head. He reached for the radio and turned his music up way too loud.
"What movie are we going to go see?" I questioned turning his music back down," He glared at me, but then smiled.
"I decided we don't need to go the movies; we are going to go to a party!" He exclaimed and I grimaced.
"How many times do I have to tell you that parties and I don't mix," I replied thinking about the few parties I've been to. I don't drink or dance, so what's the point?
"You need to let loose! That stick up your butt has been there for way too long!" He laughed at his own joke while I rolled my eyes.
"I like the stick up my butt thank you very much, besides, every time we go to a party you end up abandoning me," He rolled his green eyes while running his hand through his blonde hair. I had to admit he was attractive, however, since I've known him literally my entire life it is impossible to see him as anything more than friends. Our parents were in the same delivery recovery room together. Turns out they only lived a few doors down from each other. Ever since then, Sam and I have been best friends.
"Anyway, what was it you wanted to tell me?" He questioned changing the subject. I gave a dramatic sigh, but told him.
"You remember Dean? From my eighteenth birthday? I asked, my anger rising just by mentioning him. Sam nodded.
"You mean our eighteenth birthday? The jerk who left you sitting alone for three hours? The guy I'll most likely punch if I ever see? Yeah, I remember," He replied, his knuckles tightening around the steering wheel. I rolled my eyes at his response, but continued.
"Turns out, he is my brother's band mate," Sam's eyes grew wide.
"Did you talk to him?" He questioned.
"Yeah, kind of. He just doesn't want me to tell my brother," I replied
"Gee, what a great guy. Abandons a girl in a bar and the only thing he has to say is not to tell your brother," He shook his head in disapproval.
"He tried to explain further, but I cut him off. Honestly, he isn't worth it," I knew deep down inside getting over this guy would be harder than just saying so, but I definitely couldn't tell Sam that. Sam always calls me a hopeless romantic who is going to get a big dose of reality. He claims I live in the clouds. Perhaps he his right, but I couldn't let him know that.
"Good for you!" He praised as we pulled beside some house. I could hear the music before I even saw the house. I sighed, but got out of the car anyway. Linking my arm with his, we walked into the house together. However, as soon as we got past the doorway, he unhooked are arms and walked in the direction of Bethany Anderson. Bethany was the typical cheerleader in high school, except, she was nowhere near mean. In fact, she was nice and perfect and it made me want to stick a pen in my eyes. She got accepted into a top college and is apparently home for the weekend. Sam has always had a crush on her, but like most guys in our high school, she is way out of their league. Scowling at the back of Sam as he abandoned me as I knew he would, I walked over to a corner and took out my phone. I got away with having no one talk to me for around twenty minutes until this guy came over to me. I recognized him from around town, but didn't know who he was.
