Allegro
It has been 3 days since Grant ever visited Cameron's room. I had to leave due to Cameron pushing me out of the room.
"I have to talk to him personally." He had said. However it's been a solid 3 days and I haven't seen Grant in college.
"Okay, class. Please pay attention." The Professor says from the front of the class. "I would like you to write an assignment on how you see the world and why you see it in that way. I want all of you to think about it throughout the week and I want it on next week Monday, alright? You can e-mail it to me if you want or you can give me a hard copy. Give in all your efforts to do it. Write with depth." She says before dismissing the class. The class howls and yells, and I roll my eyes at the extreme demeanour of the class.
I stand up from my seat, my maroon dress softly brushing my thighs in the process. My mind goes back to Grant a little. I wonder what he must be doing. My mind focuses on the green irises, the brown hair bringing out their colour even more. And his smile. Oh god, his smile. His smile that drives me crazy. He must have so many appreciators. So many girls who are ready to kneel down in front of him. Happiness and triumph stirs in my stomach, and I feel myself not resisting the smile that conquers my thought. He chose me over so many girls. He chose me as the reason of his desires and fantasies.
I leave the classroom, my face broken into a grin. However, am almost knocked over by Greg, running towards me. His blonde hair sticks to one side like it always does and his glasses hang on his nose, enlarging the brown eyes.
"Watch it."I say, my mood lighter due to my trail of thoughts.
"Am sorry. Listen."He says and uses his left hand to swoop his hair. "Our college is having this...this..this weird donation thing and their will be guests coming over next Friday... So..umm..they want to have a light entertainment I guess."He says, his tone fast and nervous, like always. He looks at the ground once and once at my face.
"Yeah so what?"
"They want you for the piano." He says and I immediately feel vexation within me. Of course. There are advantages of having your stepdad as the principal of the college, aren't there?
I squeeze my eyes shut tightly, letting some of the anger flow away from me, before opening them again to look back at the already staring brown eyes.
"When is the pract-"
"Right now."He says and I feel fury burst through me. I need to get home, seriously. Its irritating me now. I am in a lose-lose situation. I don't see Grant, nor do I get to go back home.
"Okay."I say. Greg nods and turns and I follow him through the French doors and out into the campus.
****************
Greg enters the hall before me and I hear him yelling and saying that I am there. I stop at the door, before taking in a deep breath. Calm down,Allegro. My hands connect with the cold metal grip of the doors and I push it open. Almost instantly, my breathing stops in my throat and I feel my jaw slightly open. My eyes stare at him and I feel myself gaping. His back is turned to me, his hand around the shoulder of a brunette. Inspite of the fact that I cannot see his face, I can absolutely figure out who is he anywhere.
Grant.
I feel the atmosphere in the room change, a sense of tension already filling the air. I feel it crushing down on my shoulders as I stay rooted in my place, too overwhelmed even though unsure of what- for seeing him after so long or by seeing him in a musical gathering where I am about to play the piano.
I watch the way his shoulders slightly tense up before relaxing again. I see the muscles in his back move as he removes his hand from the girl's shoulder. I slowly watch his upper body turn, his eyes not faltering even for once, as if they know what to find and where to find it. It takes him only seconds before his upper body turns enough so that his eyes lock on mine. Heat floods through my body and I feel an urge to cross the room and pull him into a hug. My desire is yielded on my face, however, with a small smile. But he doesn't return the smile and turns back to his friends. I feel a stab of disappointment run through my body. He doesn't even care that you are here, my subconscious growls. My thoughts are proven wrong, however, with Grant turning completely towards me and walking over to my rooted place, stopping a little too far from me.
