Chapter Five

-----------------

Christian's POV

As much as I wanted so desperately to stay home with my mate, I had work to do. For the past four weeks, Jared and a few other rogues have been trying to attack multiple packs in my area. My pack is the largest and strongest, even other Alphas' fear me, which is a huge shock for the packs because I am the youngest Alpha to ever live.

That's not a story for now, though. Right now I need to meet up with Alpha Jaxon of the Midnight Blue pack. Our packs are basically combined, we just share the land between the small town of Bell Town. He's my most trusted alliance more than any other Alpha.

"Tanner, how is she?"

Every five-ten minutes I would talk to my Beta, Tanner, through mind link and have him update me of my mate, Marci. He had told me earlier she wasn't feeling so well, she had a fever and a headache, couldn't even stand up straight. I felt so guilty, I needed to be there for her, my wolf was snapping at me the entire ride to the Pack House.

"She's sleeping, Colt and I are making pasta for when she wakes up."

And this is why Tanner is my Beta, he's caring and not selfish. Least I know Marci will be in good hands while I'm away from her.

I arrived at the Pack House, noticing Alpha Jaxon was already here with his Beta and Third in Command.

"Christian." He greeted me, shaking my hand.

"Jaxon." I nodded at him.

We walked inside the pack house, heading towards the office where we'd be discussing our plans. I took a seat behind the desk, and he sat across me, getting himself comfortable. I pulled out a map, showing the entire area of our land, and marked where Jareds' rogues are and where they plan to be tomorrow.

"Alright, they're here, at Kevins' house we all know where that is, and tomorrow they'll be on the brink of our boarders. If we catch them on our land, we will have a reason to capture them and question them."

Jaxon was nodding his head, looking lost in thought.

"Do you have anything to say, Jaxon?" I asked him, as he finally stopped nodding his head.

It was irratating the fuck out of me.

"Why not just capture them in the open? This is a very serious situation, don't get me wrong, Alpha Christian, your idea is good and reasonable but they could attack our pups. We can't let them do that if we give them the chance, we should act now and go capture them when they aren't expecting it."

I shook my head, "Absolutely not. That's reckless, and too risky. Everyone is on high alert right now."

"But, Christian, what if-," I cut him off before he could say another word.

"Enough! I have spoken, and I said no. You may be the closest alliance I have, Alpha Jaxon, but I will not risk my packs lives for a few pathetic Rogues. Do I make myself clear?" I spoke in a stern voice as he cleared his face full of expressions.

"Yes, Christian. Of course." He simply stated, looking cool and collected.

But I knew better.

I knew he was mad, beyond mad, that I had spoken out on him in front of his Beta and Third in Command, but I had to make it clear somehow that there was no way I was going to jeopardize my packs health.

"Well, if that'll be all I'll let my pack know about the situation and get them ready for tomorrow."

I nodded at Jaxon, and I knew he was pissed at me. I didn't care though, it's my pack and my land where we are right now so what I say goes rather he likes it or not. Jaxon left with his Beta and Third in Command, making me relax and unwind my muscles.
