Chapter Seven

 Abruptly flashing to Marci's room, Tanner kicked open her door as he notice a dark figure by the window carrying an unconscious Marci in their arms. 

"Marci!" Tanner shouted, reaching towards the figure realizing it was a male.

With a chuckle, Cal jumped out the window leaving a dumbfounded beta in her room. It took him a good five minutes to comprehend what had just happen as he instantly growled and shoved himself out of her room. He needed to call Christian ASAP. 'He's going to have my head bit off.' he thought to himself. 

Picking up his cell phone, he typed in Christian's number and waited impatiently for him to answer. "Come on, Christian!" he shouted into the phone. 

"Tanner? Do you have any idea how late it is?" He heard his Alpha speaking groggily on the other end. 

Sighing deeply, he rushed his words. "Christian, we have an emergency. A vampire was here and took Marci. I'm so sorry, Christian, we should've stayed like you said, I couldn't protect her." 

Growing extremely anxious and nervous from the lack of words coming from Christians end, Tanner heard Marci's parents walking up the stairs raising their eyebrows at him. Then, once their eyes landed on the damaged door that lead to their daughters room, panic raised in their eyes. 

"Tanner? What happen? Where's Marci?" Questions rushed out of their mouths, hanging practically on Tanner's arms as he focused his hearing on Christian speaking in a very nonchalantly voice, making Tanner tense. 

"I'll be there in five, be ready by then." With that, the call ended and Tanner knew Christian was beyond furious, he was on his breaking point. Tanner was growing nervous by the seconds and Marci's worried parents were not helping whatsoever. He was worried about Marci and why a Vampire had kidnapped Marci. 'Did he knew her wolf?' he wondered.

The instant he finally relaxed in his bed, his wolf senses became alert as he sensed an unknown presence in the house and it came from Marci's room, making matters worse. Just as he promised, Christian arrived in five minutes tops. His dark hair lingered messily ontop of his head as a beanie covered his ears. 

Christian instantly walked to her room, scanning the entire area from wall to floor to window to bed and desks. Christian instantly recognized the scent of a Vampire but it wasn't just any Vampire, it was a Royal Vampire one from Pure bloodlines. That crossed out of the suspected Vampires that could possibly want anything to do with his mate. 

There were only two existing Pure bloodlines in existence. There was the Baines and there were the Whisperwoods. Both were completely opposite of the other, the Baines hatred for humans werewolves grew on a thick thread whereas the Whisperwoods treasured human lives and treated werewolves just like their own. However, the only thing they had in common was that they tried to keep themselves distanced from outsiders. Whisperwoods may be friendly, but they enjoy to be with themselves. 

He didn't see why the Whisperwoods would want Marci, which left the Baines left in his narrowing list of suspects. Growling loudly, he snapped his gaze to his beta. "I assume you already know which clan took her." He stated. 

Nodding, Tanner agreed. "Baines." he simply answered. 

"Wait a minute," Marci's father interrupted. "Baines? You mean the pure blood Vampires?"

"The one and only, yes." Christian said, ignoring the scent of his precious mate lingering on the messily made bed where she once laid not to long ago. 'I knew she should've stayed with me until my Alpha duties were completely finished. I could've prevented this.' he inwardly cringed. 

 "Christian, I'm sorry I let this happen." Tanner quietly apologized, bowing his head downwards. He felt terrible that he managed to let Marci, his Alphas mate, be kidnapped by a Pure blooded Vampire. He knew if the roles were switched, he would be furious that his mate was kidnapped and probably scared out of her mind. 

Sighing deeply, Christian squeezed the bridge of his nose trying to calm himself. "Don't apologize, it's alright, Tanner. Vampires are extremely fast when it comes to escaping. And for it to be a Baine...  I can only imagine how powerful he is."

"What are you going to do?" His Beta asked, ignoring the two worried rogue parents.

"I'm going after her of course." 

And with that, Christian left Marci's home walking down the path to his car with his beta right behind him. "Wait! Let me come with you, who knows where the Baine Vampire took her, they could have back up."

Considering this, Christian applied and let his Beta climb in the passenger seat. Before taking off, he informed Marci's parents that they'll be back with their daughter as soon as possible. Christian could still smell the scent of the Vampire and a strong scent of fear that lingered off of Marci.

Marci gasped as she sat abrutly on her elbows as she laid spread out on a soft patch of grass. She was laying in a small opening of a forest. Groaning, she rubbed her eyes as the sunshine blinded her sight. 'Where was I? How did I get here?' she wondered, panic escaping her throat as she scanned her surroundings when a deep voice echoed through her ears.

"So, you're finally awake? That's good, I was getting worried there." 

Directing her gaze to the sound, she saw the man she couldn't see well in her bedroom! He sat relaxed on a rock with his back leaning as his hands landed in his lap. Grinning, he sensed her discomfort and walked to her. He knelt down beside her, making her lean further away as he caged her in with his arms. 

"What are you-? Who are you? And where am I?" She rushed out in a hush voice thick with panic. She was scared, she had no idea what had happen after he had carried her out of her window and here she was, sitting in a middle of an opening. 

Chuckling lightly, the stranger leaned in. Marci decided to try to push him off with her hands on his chest, but it was no use. He was so much stronger than her, almost inhumanly... 

"I'm Cal Baine. And you, my dear, are the White Wolf. Am I wrong?" He whispered in her ear, breathing in her intoxicating scent. 

"Get off!" To her prevail, she had successfully pushed away Cal from her. 

"Fiesty one, aren't we?" He laughed softly, sitting across from her. 

Marci admired the way his soft, golden hair shifted in front of his eyes as the wind moved them. He looked quite beautiful, she'll give him that. But she couldn't help but feel like he was dangerous, she needed to stay away from him and escape. How, though, she didn't know yet. 

"Why'd you take me?" She asked him sternly, crossing her arms across her chest, trying to intimate him. 

Cocking an eyebrow at her actions, he mimicked her and answered. "Because I can. Why else?"

Dumbfounded, her jaw dropped. "Because you can?! What kind of reason is that!" 

Shrugging his shoulders, he leaned back crossing his arms behind his head as he closed his eyes. "It's the only answer you're going to get. I would suggest resting, I would imagine your hot-headed mate will be searching for you so we'll have to be moving soon." 

"Excuse you! You can't tell me what to do! I don't know you, and you kidnapped me and that was not an answer, that was just a cover up! You obviously have a good reason and just isn't sharing it with me. Or you don't want me to know. Which is it?" She argued, narrowing her eyes at him. 

Growling, he sat up abruptly and landed just a few inches away from her face, causing her to squeak in surprise. "I am Cal Baine, I'm from a pure blooded bloodline of Vampires. And, yes, you're right that wasn't a very exceptional answer but that is the only answer I am willing to give you for this moment. Now, close your eyes and rest."

As if on que, she landed back on the grass deep in sleep. Cal had used his Vampire abilities and made her drowsy and sleepy. Sighing, he went back to laying down. He could already hear the over protective Alpha on his way with his beta who had failed miserably to save Marci. 

Smirking, he chuckled out loud. "This is going to be very interesting."
