Will
"I had only known Lex for a few hours, we had met that night. I was so mesmerized by her. Her confidence that she would win the race, the way she held her self. The way she had class and spunk. She was everything I'd ever want. She was silly and funny and she was just amazing. She laughed at everything, and her laugh let me tell you, it was entrancing and addictive. It made you want to laugh too." I laughed, but it sounded like a sob, tears coated the paper I was suppose to be reading from but instead decided to wing it.
I looked at everyone, no one wore black, they all had purple on. The only thing black anyone had was a cross, the cross she always wore. Beth sat in the front row, her eyes puffy and tears continuously poured.
"Lexanne Nicole Faults willforever be remembered, by her purple hair, her need for speed, her humor and personality, and for her. I was sad, the day I met her. I had nobody, hell I was even contemplating going to the train tracks after the race to end my own life, but then I met Lex. And damn, I fell in love with her the second I laid my eyes on her. She became the sun in my life in the matter of minutes, and now I have to figure out how to live in the dark." I wiped my eyes and looked at her lilac colored casket, it was open and she looked gorgeous.
I walked over to her and took her cold hand, "You will forever be my princess." I kissed her hand, then her forehead, and then her lips. Her cold lips that still tasted like her cherry Chapstick.
I walked away and sat down next to Beth, I wrapped my arm around the elderly lady and she cried into my shoulder.
"I told her not to go so fast." She sobbed, "She didn't listen."
"She was a speed demon, what did you expect?" I tried laughing, but just cried harder too.
"At least she died doing what she loved, yeah?" I said, and Beth nodded.
We all gathered around the hole, I took a few steps back and watched them bring her casket out.
They slowly started lowering her into the ground.
I broke.
"Stop!" I cried out.
I ran to her closed casket, there was no way she could be really gone. No, she was just laughing and so alive. There's no way she can be gone.
I collapsed on the ground and leaned on her casket.
"Will, she's gone, you've got to let her go." Beth said, pulling at my arms.
"No, no, no. No please, she can't be gone. God please." I pleaded.
My pleads didn't work, just like hers hadn't.
