Erick and Lenora woke up two hours later to Buddy pawing at the door and whimpering. Erick looked over at the dog and watched him for a moment then jumped up and threw his shoes on.
"What's up Erick?" Lenora asked rubbing her eyes.
"Buddy needs to go to the yard. I think he needs to pee." Erick said as he grabbed the makeshift dog leash and put it on the dog.
Lenora rolled over and watched as Erick opened the door and lead Buddy out of her room and towards the kitchen. She stretched and laid there for a moment still waking up. Erick walked back into the room a few minutes later with a buddy at his heels.
"All better?" She asked as she slowly sat up.
Erick nodded with a yawn as he undid the leash. "Yup. We peed on everything we could out there."
Lenora smiled slightly still not fully awake. Erick walked over and laid down behind her with a second yawn.
"Mom and dad said we would sleep more if we want too." He said as he closed his eyes.
Lenora shook her head. "I think I am going to stay up. You can nap again if you want, I don't care."
Erick nodded and rolled over. He was sound asleep moments later. Lenora chuckled at him and rolled her eyes. It was a talent Erick had, he could fall asleep just about anywhere he wanted. Lenora carefully stood up and walked over to her desk. She pulled her journal out from the top drawer and made sure Erick was asleep. Buddy jumped up next to him and curled up. Lenora opened the book to the next empty page she had and took a deep breath.
Journal,
Today we found a dog. We didn't mean to find a dog, I think Erick was trying to surpize me. He has been acting funny lately. I wonder what is going on. He bought me a warm drink and breakfast, took me to watch the sunrise after the first real snow of the season. Very strange. What was even weirder was that he suddenly thought of this after asking me what my ideal first date was. I wonder if this was supost to be a date. He didn't say it was a date. I wonder if he was about to when Buddy showed up. That sounds like Erick's kind of luck. I think I might ask him.
I guess my biggest fear would be to date Erick. No, not to date him, the fear is that he wouldn't mean anything in the realtonship. That it would all be a joke to him. That is my biggest fear by far. It always has been.
All for now,
Lenora.
She shut her journal and tucked it back into its drawer and slipped out of the bedroom to go to the bathroom.

Erick had watched Lenora write in her journal while pretneding to be asleep.
