The pair stared at each other for what felt like an eternity before Lauren broke the silence, "well, I better be going then," she said, getting up to leave.

"Wait," Camila replied. "Where are you going at this time of night. Well actually morning I guess."

Camila mentally slapped herself for being so awkward.

"Oh, I'm just..um...well...I'm going out with some of my friends," Lauren stuttered.

"Oh, okay, well maybe I'll see you around sometime."

"Yeah, maybe," Lauren said quietly. She nodded slightly before heading out of the apartment complex.

Camila made her way to her room and unlocked the apartment door. She grabbed her pyjamas from her suitcase and tested the shower which was surprisingly nice and warm. She let herself soak up the warmth from the water spraying on her olive skin and cleared her mind of everything. Everything except a certain pair of emerald eyes.

She was brought back to reality by an urgent knock on the door.

"Sh*t!" Camila cursed as she grabbed her towel and wrapped it around her. She opened the door slightly to see who wanted her at such a time.

The same man that drove her to her mother's house was standing at her door.

"Oh hello sir. Um Mike was it? I can explain. I couldn't live with my mother, I just couldn't. And not to mention that school was hell. Please don't make me go back please, I'll do anything."

"Hey Camila, settle down. Everything's fine. Your mother and I both agreed that you're better off here anyway. I was actually visiting my daughter who lives here too. It's a small world, isn't it?

Camila nodded while Mike pulled a picture from his pocket and showed it to Camila.

"The one in the middle, that's her," he said, smiling fondly.

Camila looked at the picture closely. She was sure she had seen her before.

"What's her name?" Camila asked.

"Lauren," Mike replied. Camila put two and two together and finally realised that the girl she bumped into on the way to her apartment was actually his daughter. She decided to keep quiet about it though.

"I came here to visit her but I can't seem to find her anywhere. She's beautiful isn't she?" Mike asked.

"Yes," Camila agreed. "Well if I see her, I'll tell her you're looking for her."

"Thank you so much Camila. Have a good night. Remember you have my card if you need anything.

Camila smiled a genuine smile, "will do Mr Jauregui."

Once Mike had left, Camila grabbed her pyjamas and got changed. She walked over to the small balcony her apartment had to offer and took in the buzzing city life surrounding her. It might take a bit of adjusting but she could get used to this. She let her mind wander but it kept coming back to the mysterious girl named Lauren.

Little did Camila know that she had a history with this girl. One that neither of them knew about.
