{{ I added this song because the video sends a message. For the first time in like- forever, a plus-sized woman (though I prefer to just call them women tbh), Ashley Graham, is the love interest in a music video! DNCE has found a way to show that not everyone in this world needs to be skinny so let's celebrate that! So this chapter is dedicated to women of all shapes and sizes because YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! }}

Time passed faster than Elias thought. He found himself staring at the clock in the kitchen, already dressed for the date at 6 pm when the doorbell went.

"Alex got hooked on Game of Thrones, so he's not here but! we're here to help!" Jack exclaimed when Elias opened the door. Calum just stood next to his friend, grinning.

"What are you guys doing here?" Elias hissed but stepped aside to let them in.

"Bro! You texted that you're taking Kat out! Tonight! Bro! You convinced her after one weekend?" Calum grinned as he plopped down on the couch in the living room. Jack hooked his arm through Elias' and grabbed him along to sit between him and Calum.

"Guys, it's not that big a-"

"Oh no you don't!" Jack exclaimed. "It so is a big deal! You've been pining after her for like a year, man!" Elias groaned and buried his face in his hands for the second time that day.

"Guys, please, I don't-" He tried- emphasis on tried.

"You aren't wearing that, are you?" Calum said picking at Elias' shirt.

"And where are you taking the lovely lady?" Jack asked, slapping Calum's hand away. "Cal's got a point though. Let us get you something to wear." Elias just let them do what they wanted, he knew there was no point in trying to object when two of his best friends were on the case.

At 5 minutes to 7, Elias pulled up in front of Kat's house. After a makeover from Calum and Jack, he was now clad in black skinny jeans and a tight black band shirt (a Rammstein shirt to be exact). He took a few calming breaths, before glancing at the time again and sighing, frustrated.

The fog hung low in the streets that night and even though the sky still held a bright spark of blue swirled with the dark blue of the night, the darkness made Elias worry. Worry about the outcome of this date, worry about Kat's feeling for him, worry about-

His worrying was interrupted by the beeping of his phone.

"Hello?" He answered and cursed himself for the shaking in his voice.

"Elias?" It was Kat. "I can see you outside my house." She chuckled. Elias froze. "My youngest brother thinks you're a stalker. Maybe you should come in." Elias groaned and facepalmed but felt himself calm down when Kat's laughter sounded in his ear.

"I'll be at your door in a second." Kat laughed as she sang a 'see ya in a second' and Elias could hear a boy's voice in the background before she hung up. Elias stared straight ahead for a couple of seconds before he said 'fuck it' and threw the car door open.

The door seemed to be closed for an eternity before it was thrown open by non other than Kat herself.

"You have about three seconds before the inquisition if you wanna get out of here now?" She whispered and Elias considered it for a second but then he just squared his shoulders and smiled reassuringly.

"Like I said: a gentleman is always prepared." Kat threw him a look that he couldn't decipher but he didn't have much time to dwell on it because Mrs Moore had already reached the door.
